You Cannot Have a Criminal President!

When Richard Nixon was impeached, it was clear to me, Nixon was guilty of being involved in the Watergate cover up. That guilt meant that he could no longer remain in office after committing a serious crime. I was a Democrat so sure; it was an easy decision. But my opinion that Nixon had to go had nothing to do with party affiliation. It was national pride…you can’t have a criminal as President of the United States of America.

Born blue, dyed in the wool New Deal Democrat but when Bill Clinton was impeached, I was angry. I didn’t think a private affair was worthy of impeachment. But more than the Republicans I was angry with Bill Clinton. You’re President of the United States, tens of thousands of hours and millions of dollars were spent on your behalf to put you in power and you’re going to ruin the chance to move our agenda forward for a blow job! That’s tawdry and despicable but to whom much is given much is expected. The President of the United States is the powerful person in the world. The downside, you must behave like a decent human being.

Bill Clinton wronged me and I’ve never forgiven him for it. I had my doubts when he said he’s tried smoking pot but didn’t inhale. Do you know how stupid you have to be to say that, let alone believe it? I trusted him, and he let the country down. He shamed us and embarrassed us. He didn’t deserve to be impeached, but he handed the Republicans the fuel and fire to derail the Party and the Presidency.

There is only one person I hold responsible for the election of Donald J. Trump.  It is not Jill Stein or Bernie Sanders, it is Hillary Clinton. An incumbent candidate with the party machinery at her back and she carried it with that sense of entitlement. “I’m ready for my close-up mister Deville.” Her candidacy was a presentation, a fait accompli.  The party picked her deal with it! Bernie wanted a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage and Hillary offered eleven fifty. If elected, I promise more of the same. More income inequality. More Wall Street and more homelessness, nothing says upward mobility like eleven fifty an hour.

Let’s face it; Hillary Clinton is one of the most divisive politicians of her generation. Most of the accusations made about her are false. She is one of the most defamed people of her generation and maybe the most investigated. Add in one, the Party selected her and two, her Queen Elizabeth smile and wave of disconnection with the average voter and you elect Donald Trump. Hillary was known and disliked Trump was an unknown.

Trump was audacious, appealing to the worst in the American psyche. Americans love their demigod tough guys. Their Barry Goldwater, Richard Nixon or Ronald Reagan nut jobs. Getting by with bluster, tough talk and bullshit… clever by half until they get caught. Willing to use scapegoats to inflame the hoosters in the hoosting. From Welfare queens driving big Cadillac’s down to Colin Kaepernick, using innocent Americans as foils to create a hoopla and turn one American against another. A Punch and Judy puppet show to distract you while they fleece your pockets.

What we have learned is that Trump is a malignant narcissist. From the day of his inaugural, we heard about “the biggest crowd ever” when it was obviously not. This was a warning; Helsinki was a warning it’s all been warnings and impeachment is a warning. While still accused of treating with the Russians in the 2016 election Trump is on the phone with Zelensky trying to pull another scam. Trump supporters call it TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome. The belief that a criminal is some how doing the work of a President.

Actually, it should be called TBS – Trump Blindness Syndrome. Executive time, golfing weekends, Hundreds of mindless and pointless malignant tweets. As if saying “Witch Hunt and “Perfect Call” in volume is somehow an alibi. Pay no attention to anything the Democrats say about Trump. Just take the word of the long line of cabinet officials leaving the White House. They will tell you that Trump is incompetent they will tell you he’s is a boob incapable of grasping the simplest concept. And remember this John Kelly quote, “if you hire a yes man as Chief of Staff you will be impeached.”

Mark Twain once said, “It is easier to fool someone than to convince them they’ve been fooled.” It is a simile of the cave; the Trump supporters believe the shadows on the wall and you can’t convince them with sunshine. Sunshine is the deep state, you know those folks that have done their jobs for years and years of education and experience. You know that deep state of book lerners and note takers. That deep state of honorable and law abiding trying stop this brain-dead moron from destroying our government. Cheered on by the Fox News minions “Build the Wall! Raise my Taxes and End my Healthcare!”

This wantonly cruel administration with Nazis and white supremacists on the payroll. An anti -public school education Secretary, an anti-housing, HUD Secretary. Trump pardons war criminals as the crowd calls for Barabbas. “Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore…”  and we’ll put them in cages.

An administration with no foreign or domestic policy other than whatever I can get my hands on. Little Rocket Man kicks Trump in the ass and sends him on his way and the press says… crickets. Laughed at by the European Union and taunted by the Chinese, Trump declares victory after surrendering his trade war. All those billions of dollars in tariffs paid in by Americans for nothing. All of those billions in subsidies paid out to farmers for nothing.

Trump will be impeached in the House and tried in the Senate as the Republican leadership declares him innocent before the trial begins. A President who is clearly incompetent and a danger to the world. A President with no understanding, care or love for our way of life. A President who is tearing this country apart, destroying our alliances. A President who has insulted everyone except…Vladimir Putin. The Republican Senate is preparing to present black as white and white as black scenario to the American people to save their chance to make another buck. Willing to throw this country and all it has stood for under the bus merely to feather their nests.

“Every time we turn our heads the other way when we see the law flouted, when we tolerate what we know to be wrong, when we close our eyes and ears to the corrupt because we are too busy or too frightened, when we fail to speak up and speak out, we strike a blow against freedom and decency and justice.” – Robert Francis Kennedy
