President Roosevelt sat in front of a huge map board of the Pacific. Admiral Halsey wanted to invade Saipan. General McArther wanted to invade the Philippines. McArther offered that Saipan was too big a bite of the apple, and too far from resupply. It would be dangerous to get tied down in a huge operation with the Philippines still in Japanese hands. In the end, we invaded the Philippines, and the Admiral did what he was told to do.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff was ordered to have his staff fully vaccinated by October 1st but has refused to comply. It seems, he has a perfectly legitimate excuse, he doesn’t want to enforce an order. Because some of his deputies might get mad and quit. Don’t let the door hit you where the good lord split you on your way out. Unless they preface that order with that old Cliché, “This is dangerous mission they have planned for us tonight. If any man or woman would like to drop out now, it won’t be counted against you!” Unless they say something like that, you gotta do it!
They might quit! Because amid a worldwide pandemic, there’s never been a better time to give away your seniority and income and go job shopping! But guess what? Guess what the first question any prospective employer is going to ask you? “Are you vaccinated?” Good luck finding a Police force, a Sheriff’s Office, prison or parking lot attendant job somewhere between here and Timbuktu, where you don’t need to be vaccinated. Don’t call it a vaccination, call it an intelligence test.
“No, I am not forcing anyone, the issue has become so politicized there are entire groups of employees that are willing to be fired and laid off rather than get vaccinated,” – Sheriff Alex Villanueva
I have literally never ever heard a better reason for someone to be fired in my life. Here’s what he’s really saying. “I’m not in charge; I just draw a check. The employees tell me what they want to do, and we do that. I’m so fragile in my position, that I dare not offend anyone by giving them orders. Because they might get angry and quit, and then where would I be? I don’t know what I’m doing!”
The County Board of Supervisors has stripped Villanueva of his vaccine enforcement powers. Leaving him the worst of both worlds, with promised desertions and lacking the authority to do anything about it. From the sounds of it, this Villanueva’s retirement job as future employment seems doubtful.
My uncle spent three years in the South Pacific and used to joke, “College doesn’t seem so hard to me. Nobodies shooting at you or trying to kill you. You aren’t living in the mud. Just do your homework kid, that’s easy!”
The greatest generation, charged machine gun encrusted pillboxes and this generation, is afraid of being shot with a needle. “I might turn into a Zombie! The Chinese could steal my DNA and make Zombie clones of me to work in their dreaded Zinc Mines! Or I could become magnetic! Bill Gates could use my DNA to create a race of alien super warriors and take over the Earth! I don’t want to, I’m scared! And they didn’t even know to be scared, until some told them they ought to be scared.
And they wouldn’t be all that scared, unless someone told them that they really should be. Ready to drink beach, stick a light bulb up their ass or eat cattle wormer, because orange Bozo, thinks that might help. No one gets that stupid by themselves. That much stupidity, requires a group effort. Those doctors and scientists might have something dreadful up their sleeve. This could be the big chance they’ve all been waiting for, to get us and take over the world Craig and turn us into Zombies! The only thing we have to fear, is not stoking fear itself.
Former White House Press secretary Stephanie Grisham says, Pwesident Twump would roll his eyes at the rules and so, his staff would roll their eyes too. Yeah, that’s the way that it usually works. Because when the boss doesn’t have to follow the rules, you don’t either! Go ahead, skip out on work after lunch on Friday. Go ahead, submit that phony travel voucher, the boss won’t care. You just do whatever you want, and we’ll let you know, if you go too far.
Grisham is saying, I’m not guilty of any crimes because the boss didn’t care. If the boss doesn’t care, then we don’t have too. Nice, throwing her boss under the bus, while pleading both ignorance and negligence. “Well sure, I knew that was wrong, but the boss was okay with it! I was just following orders. You just knew it was a matter of time before that excuse would show up.
Faux News requires all its employees to be vaccinated, before they can go on the air with stories of courage and heroism. “And then he quit that job as a Deputy Sheriff! Telling them to stick those fifteen years of seniority up their ass. He’ll get by without their stinking pension! He was a free American, and he wasn’t about to comply with any secret Chinese plot, engineered by Dr. Fauci or Joe Biden and get vaccinated!”

In my lifetime, big govment has asked me not to liter. Don’t make that Native American man cry again. Don’t get Aids, don’t do drugs, and in an effort to slow or stop a dangerous pandemic, get vaccinated. Get up off that chair and for the good of other people, if not for yourself. For the first time in my adult life, I have ever been asked to do anything, besides pay my taxes, and don’t stick gum under the table. Listen at em, squalling like a box of kittens looking for mama. Like the gate on landing craft is about to drop and they’re expected to charge Omaha Beach.
I used to tell my kids getting on a roller coaster, “Same number getting on, as getting off! At the first site of body bags, we’re not riding anymore. Maybe, if people were dropping like flies that would be one thing, but same number are getting on as getting off. If you go to get vaccinated and see body bags or exhausted paramedics, then maybe you have a point. Otherwise, your health is being compromised and you are being duped by the cult of “I don’t have to if I don’t want to.” Just give me my Faux News “Good American” participation trophy and let me go. Its almost time for Wrestling, and I know my rights!
