“What we saw today is the worst of America. “The violence, destruction and chaos we saw earlier was unacceptable, undemocratic and un-American.” – Kevin McCarthy , January 6th, 2021
Donald Trump called for the worst of America to come to Washington town. He incited them and wound them up and then turned them loose on the Capitol. But today, Kevin McCarthy says the prosecution of the ring leader of that insurrection is weaponizing the Justice Department.
“Who are you going to believe? Me or your own lying eyes.” – Groucho Marx
The Republicans are hoisted by their own petards. The Republicans must now support Trump no matter what or admit the jig is up. But the meteor has struck, and the dinosaurs are going to fall. Good luck to them going forward into the election season with the message of defending criminals.
If I were running for Congress, my TV ads would featue January 6th videos. With a voice over asking, does this look like the weaponization of the Justice Department to you? Can you defend this kind of behavior? Can you vote for this? Is this the America you want for your children?
The FBI has rounded up the January 6th suspects and charged them. They have been tried and sentenced to hard time for their actions. Yet somehow, the prosecution of the ring leader is all political. Daring to blame law enforcement, rather than the criminals themselves.
“A violent insurrection” – Mitch McConnell
The Michigan Attorney General has charged 16 in the phony elector’s plot to steal Democracy. Is that also political? These people signed their names to fraudulent paperwork claiming to be the lawful electors from Michigan. If you go into the bank and try to pass a bad check, it is a crime. These individuals were trying to pass a bad check in the Presidential election. They willfully and intentionally signed their names to paperwork they knew to be false.
It’s all one and the same thing. Trump called them to Washington. “I hope Mike Pence will do the right thing!” The phony electors and Trump’s call to the Georgia Secretary of State. “I need you to find me 11,780 votes.” It becomes clear the Republicans are pissing in the wind. If convicted, and the state has all the paperwork and only needs to ask, “Is this your signature?” These individuals if convicted, face up to fourteen years in prison.
The Republicans are defending Frosty the Snowman and here comes the sun. They can only become shriller in their defense as Trump as he has been named a target of the investigation of election interference in Georgia. The first rule of lifesaving is not to let the drowning man take you down with him.
Trump wants to delay his trial in the stolen documents case which may help Trump but doesn’t help the Republican Party at large. The story will hang out there like a tumor growing larger. And the Republican Party will find their sole issue is defending Donald Trump into the headwinds of Justice. You must be willfully ignorant to believe that Trump is an innocent being maliciously picked on. And by defending Trump they become Trump, gaining nothing while risking everything.
The Michigan phony electors’ case is a slam dunk, is this your signature? Did you read this document before signing it?
Trump has been named a target by Jack Smith and eight of the phony electors in Georgia have signed immunity deals. David Copperfield couldn’t make that elephant disappear. They have Trump on audio tape trying to cajole the Georgia Secretary of State into throwing the election.
In their defense of Trump, the entire Republican Party has waded into a cesspool and branded themselves as rotten to the core. Trump is going down, take that to the bank. His only hope is to win reelection which is no hope at all. Is Donald Trump more popular today or less popular?
Meanwhile in the CCCM, Contrived, Corporate, Country Music, think Rush Limbaugh in a cowboy hat with a guitar. Jason Aldean’s new CCCM song advocates for violence against those you disagree with.
“Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk
Carjack an old lady at a red light
Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store
Ya think it’s cool, well, act a fool if ya like
Cuss out a cop, spit in his face
Stomp on the flag and light it up
Yeah, ya think you’re tough.”
All with the video clips of flag burning behind it. You know who spit in a cop’s face? The January 6th insurrectionists and they killed cops too. But the song his aimed at riling up the rednecks with neo patriotic and idiotic flag waving in the background. ”Hell no, I don’t want no damn Bud Light!”
“Got a gun that my granddad gave me
They say one day they’re gonna round up
Well, that shit might fly in the city, good luck.”
Who says they will one day round up? Nobody that’s who, nobody. A song of agitation. A song of grievance and victimization. Glorifying the worst of America.
“Try that in a small town
See how far ya make it down the road
Around here, we take care of our own
You cross that line, it won’t take long
For you to find out, I recommend you don’t
Try that in a small town”
A song taken right off the pages of the Nazi Party playbook. This ain’t America! You ain’t got no right to protest around here! If we don’t like it, we’ll just kick your ass!” Coded innuendos of beat-up old ladies and big govment coming to get your gas stoves and guns.
CMT, Country Music Television has pulled the video from their rotation. They don’t want to be sued when some good old boys kill someone they don’t like, for being something they’ve been taught to hate.
“There is nothing in the record of the past two years when both Houses of Congress have been controlled by the Republican Party which can lead any person to believe that those promises will be fulfilled in the future. They follow the Hitler line – no matter how big the lie; repeat it often enough and the masses will regard it as truth.” ― John F. Kennedy
