I’ll Be a Victim for You!

By David Glenn Cox

And so, the world’s forests were cut down to print all the Kiss & Tell Trump books. I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard enough. In this latest edition, Trump calls evangelicals “so called Christians” and “real pieces of shit.“ Color me shocked, Donald Trump said something nasty behind his supporter’s backs. You could have knocked me over with a feather.

But the answers don’t come from the questions. The answers come from the color of Trump’s statements. It’s another case of Trump the doofus who at the same time correctly and articulately nails the evangelicals. There is no question in Trump’s mind whatsoever who he’s dealing with. This is a bullshit appearance and a crowd ready for a snow job.

A fortunate aspect of having faith-based supporters is their desire to believe anything. Throw the crowd a couple of big fat “hosannahs” and a “bless you” or two, and you’re in. Lower your head and look somber and time your “Amen” at the end of the prayer at just the right moment for the greatest impact. They want to believe that you are one of them. That you also talk to imaginary friends for advice.

And if your lifestyle appears to deny any belief in the faith, so what? They want to believe. So, Trump appears at Liberty Bible thumping college and calls Second Corinthians, two Corinthians. In a Bible college no less and the crowd snickered at his rookie mistake. Then Trump’s 2016 Republican opponents began to use “Two Corinthians” remark against Trump but still, the evangelicals fell under his spell.

Despite what their own eyes told them and despite what their own leaders told them, the evangelicals  fell under the Trump spell. Because they wanted to believe in something. A New York Real Estate developer and TV performer. A man with no outward signs of ever being a Christian or attending a church was actually a devout a man of God. That’s a stretch of the imagination even from those living in the land of make believe.

But in actuality, what is the level of detail we require from the bowels of the Trump Administration? At this point, I think we all have a pretty good idea who Donald Trump is. Trump has said worse things about nicer people than that before breakfast. We’re way past hurt feelings and cultural faux pas here. The man is looking at a host of Federal charges involving fraud and insurrection. Trump says worse things publicly, nearly every day.

Illustrating the evolution of the cult from “Build the Wall” To “Avenge me!” And if elected, I plan to get even with everybody who was ever mean to me. I’ll build camps and arrest the people I don’t like! Pretty dark stuff to be spewing this early in the election cycle. “And once you’re gone, you can’t come back. When you’re out of the blue and into the black.” Trump is locked on a course of extremism and self-centered self-destruction. Tell all the campaign advisers to go on home, this has been decided. The boss has already made his mind up his mind on this.

First, we will storm through Iowa with “They’re out to get me!” Then we’ll go full “Deep State” theme in New Hampshire.  And by Super Tuesday, we’ll have those under achieving nose picking morons up in arms! Delusion or self-delusion? Does Trump still think it was and can be again the largest inaugural ceremony ever? Have you seen the huge crowds packing Trump’s recent court appearances? Yeah, me neither.

A few dozen yokels winding up in Federal prison for a few years and losing everything has had the desired effect. Few, who still desire to rampage through the Capitol again or do battle with the cops. The true believers are still out there, but the masses have cooled.

Trump is trying to leverage his follower’s potential for violence when Trump’s followers have been properly admonished. Trump pushes the limits of gag rules trying and striving to be sanctioned by a judge. “See! See! See what they’re doing to me? Elect me President, and I’ll be a victim for you!”

See the problem? “Put me in charge because they’re out to get me! I’m the man you want because all these judges and Democrats are out to get me!” It’s a difficult task for a victim to lead. A difficult task to incite the mob to pointlessly sacrifice themselves and stick their heads in the lion’s mouth. After the mob has seen what happened to the first batch.

Trump correctly declares, “Ron DeSanctimonious” officially politically dead, and so very last week. And labels Nikki Haley as “Bird Brain.” If Trump insult’s her, she must be important! Trump controls 50% of the Republican party and that other 50% is looking desperately for options. First Ron, and then Ron was found wanting for lacking a personality. Then Vivek Ramaswamy’s flame burned brightly for about week or so. Until it was discovered Vivek was actually a lightweight, who largely didn’t know what he was talking about.

So now it’s Nikki’s turn to be employee of the week at the burger barn. Republicans looking desperately for an alternative to Donald Trump and not finding one. What will they do come election day? Will they come out of their pajamas to stand in line and vote for Donald Trump or just open another beer?

Besides, Trump says all the elections are all fixed by the “Deep State” anyway. So why bother voting?
