They can’t say that they weren’t warned. But house Republicans really can’t help themselves but to impeach Joe Biden. It is a case of Trump wagging the dog. From focus groups to Fox News, public opinion says impeaching Joe Biden is a NO SALE. Democrats, Independents and even some Republicans are warning against impeachment.
After programming the faithful for years on end, that Trump’s impeachments were all political theater, it’s hard for them to make the sale now. Fox News wants no part of it. Hours and hours of Republican tongue exercise marathons. With no explosive force behind it because it’s all made up. “Didn’t you? Weren’t you? Isn’t it true?”
This is all Trump’s idea to sell whataboutism to his simian supporters. There is little upside in this for congress. For an organization that has a growing reputation for not get much done, wasting time on a sham impeachment might not bear fruit or even bear bitter fruit. Like Tommy Tuberville making himself strongly disliked by all voters in uniform, all to accomplish basically nothing. Look at me! (Does handstand) Look at me!
Another of Trump’s vengeance weapons as Trump is no longer claiming his innocence. He’s now claiming everyone is just as dirty. You get me and I get you and right and wrong have nothing to do with it. But most everyone agrees this is frightful path for house Republicans to take because for every possible success, there are at least five possible failures.
Threat one, boring. Threat two, Jim Jordan. Threat three, a combination of threat one and threat two. Threat four is the outcome is a forgone conclusion. Threat five, Joe Biden isn’t going anywhere, and congress is wasting desks and electricity. There is no central allegation, so it will be impossible (For this crew anyway) to stay on course. Plus, it’s a lot of time to fill when you ain’t got nothing to begin with.
The Republicans must generate some heat for any hope of being boffo at the box office. A stunt that could backfire badly right around election day with no time to recover. I was told many years ago, that nothing ever happens during an election year for just that reason. If that new school or highway you promised is late and way over budget? The best laid plans, I guess.
Trump is forcing house Republicans to touch the hot stove. It’s fodder for Trump and injury for congress and the Republicans.
Kevin McCarthy (the terrible) left the halls of congress the other day with harsh words for Republican mini monster Matt Gaetz. Saying, they should study Matt’s mind to find out what’s wrong with him. Reading between the lines the true message involves one finger hand gestures and copulating mothers. Gaetz is like school boy who has to tell everything he knows. He tells James Comer, he’s the reason why we should ban members from trading stocks. Comer responds with, maybe you should stop living off your daddy’s money!
This group is tired, and they have been through fiasco after fiasco. January 6th, Hunter Biden investigation, Big Tech investigation, the speaker battle (s) and now a Biden impeachment. “Who gains from this?” If the public has no stomach for it or belief in it. Another stunt to circle jerk the base while alienating and polarizing everyone else.
Former Republican house speaker Paul Ryan says Trump isn’t a Conservative. He’s an “Authoritarian, Narcissist.“ He left out malignant, but Ryan’s voice is just one more in a growing chorus. The anti-Trump forces in the Republican Party raise their standard and ready themselves for battle. Trump rages, when doesn’t he? Jack Smith goes to the Supreme Court to decide Presidential immunity. Trump rages incoherently that Smith is trying to get a guilty plea from the court. Duh, what? Trump fears the court will somehow brand him as guilty. You can look in one ear and see daylight out the other. Trump is saying without Presidential immunity…he’s guilty. That’s the last arrow in the quiver.

That’s some real Party loyalty there, “I’m gonna tell! You’ll be sorry! Just you wait until I’m rich!” Adam Kinzinger is going after Jim Jordan for the usual Jordan Tom Foolery and hypocrisies. Jordan is outraged Hunter Biden would ignore a congressional subpoena after Jim Jordan did the exact same thing.
Chris Christie rips on Trump and Liz Cheney rips on all the Republicans. Gaetz goes after Comer, McCarthy goes after Gaetz. Trump rages, Cheney rages, Gaetz rages and McCarthy rages! Mike What’s his Name Johnson, is attacked for his religious extremism by his own step mom. Holy smokes!
All this Republican angst and drama and hard feelings. And now the Republicans plan to impeach Joe Biden. That is, if they don’t tear each other limb from limb first.
