It was January 1968, and I was listening to my new Cream record. The North Vietnamese had attacked by surprise over the Tet holiday and caught the US military flat footed even overrunning the US Embassy grounds. Eventually, after a couple of weeks, it was largely over. Militarily it was a victory for the US but politically, it was Custer’s Last Stand.

President Johnson and the Administration had kept on telling the American people, “we got this well in hand! Don’t you worry your head; it will soon be all over.” And Tet showed it wasn’t over by a long shot.” The seriousness came down on the people and hope sank. We weren’t helping South Vietnam as much as we were just stuck in Vietnam. We were spending blood and treasure, and for what?

Flash forward to Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk today. They caught the Russians flat footed. And all after Vladimir Putin had been telling his people, “I got this! Don’t you worry your pretty little heads about it.” The knows everything too smart to be questioned. The dictator has egg on his face. Putin might as well get out a pen and sign the surrender paperwork now. There are stirrings of unhappiness in the Russian populace from the Oligarch to the peasant on the street.

What the hell is going on here! How did a three-day operation turn into all of this? What could possibly be won in Ukraine worth all this death and billions upon billions of Rubles in military losses? Kursk has showed the world the limits of the Russian military. Putin is all in, and his weakness has been exposed. Only a matter of time. Sorry, but those are the rules of the game. The leader doesn’t survive a defeat. The leader knows everything until they don’t. Then they get a new leader.

Corruption is so ingrained in the Russian military they can’t unfuck themselves. Poor leadership, bad management and now it’s come down to all this. It is very interesting how the human mind operates. As long as anyone thinks they were winning something. They can accept the deaths and the losses. But as soon as it becomes clear they weren’t winning, how quickly the sentiment changes. “Not three days but going on three years Vladimir. How do you explain this?”

The Republican Party had done a truly admirable job of convincing the American public Joe Biden was far too old to be the President. Well-done boys and girls, take a bow! Then Joe Biden stepped aside and left the Republicans flat footed. Smile and say Tet! The departure of Joe Biden released the pent-up energy of the people they had convinced Joe Biden was too old.

It showed the Republicans; the race was far from over and it was a race Donald Trump was unprepared to run. Suddenly, he was the old fart in a shoe box and slipping. Accused of running a sleepy campaign Trump turns up the speed from 33 1/3 to 45 RPM. As the results have now shown, more Trump is not better Trump. Mr. Trump appears frantic. Angry Grandpa is muttering about squirrels on the roof again. Going out on his Gaffe-a-palooza tour.

Calling in to Fox News to complain about his shorts being too tight. Rambling with petty grievances and complaints. The harder he tries the worse it is going to get. Trump has been exposed and is not winning anymore. He’s being cut off by Fox News and Newsmax both in mid conversation! There was once a time when they sat by their phones and actually hoped he’d call in, but not anymore.

“Kamala’s a Communist!” Thank you, Mr. President, thank you for calling in. “She’s not popular, I am!” We’ll talk to you again sometime real soon Mr. President! “And she’s got big feet too! Have you ever noticed how big her feet are?” Also, in the news. It has all become so painful to watch that even Fox News can no longer handle it. They realize the more Mr. Trump talks the more the arrows move in the wrong direction.

The King of the nicknames is stung by a fatal nickname “weird.” Mr. Trump insists it isn’t he who is weird. So, it must be all  J.D.s fault! Trump has J.D. sent on an inspection tour of Republican basements. It’s Hide and Go Seek, campaign style. You go hide J.D. and don’t let the press find you before election day. The surest admission yet they know J.D. was a mistake and Donald Trump is slipping.

Trump’s not winning anymore, and it shows.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has ended his faux campaign and attempt to be the Kanye West of this election cycle. After the rise of Kamala Harris, it became clear spending good Republican money on this ineffectual idiot was pointless. So, the coffers and the polling numbers shrank dramatically. Like a good lap dog, RFK shows up on stage sniffing Trump’s butt approvingly and throwing his hundreds and hundreds of votes to Donald Trump.

It is the clearest admission of defeat yet, pulling the plug on RFK. Just a matter of few million dollars to keep his shilling campaign going till election day. Elon could pay that amount out of his lunch money, but he won’t. Just good Republican money after bad. RFK’s not doing any good here anymore.

On the final night of the Democratic convention after Kamala’s Harris’s speech. Donald Trump was calling TV networks like a petulant child demanding he be given a birthday present too! “She’s not so great! She’s not so popular, I’m popular!” Posting craziness on Twuth Social until four in the morning.

“Harris will take us into a Nuclear World War III. She has lead us into a failing nation status! She talked about her childhood too much! She’s a radical Marxist and she’s laughed by the tyrant’s” (aka Trump’s friends.) And last but not least, as if just to illustrate his powers of cosmic perception. “Walz was an assistant coach not a coach! Is she talking about me?”

Oh Dear! He’s making the numbers go the wrong way again. Sorry, but those are the rules of the game. The leader doesn’t survive a defeat. The leader knows everything until they don’t. Then they get a new leader.
