Republicans were planning on an ordinary election. We do this, this and then this. But this is an extraordinary election, the last election with Donald Trump at the forefront. After that, hell’s a poppin. But Republicans have to survive this Trump event first. So, they foolishly run just like it’s another day instead of the last day. Former Republican Senator, Jeff Flake endorses Kamala Harris. Welcome to the club Jeff. Someone find Jeff a chair.

Larry Hogan, former Trump pal, receives Trump’s endorsement in his Maryland Senate race. Hogan declines to return the favor and endorse Trump. “He just endorsed me. I didn’t ask him to do it! Honest! I barely know the man.” According to the passion play, Larry will deny him three times. Republicans working against Donald Trump and Republicans openly repudiating Donald Trump.

Four years ago, these same politicians came from miles around to kiss Trump’s ring and nether regions and to beg for his favor. Now, they line up in the street to denounce him. First, they love you and then they hate you. Then they get tired of you, and they wish you would just go away. Donald Trump is turning toxic. As the pressure builds, Trump implodes like a carbon-fiber submarine. When they go sane, we go crazy!

Mr. Trump is running the wrong campaign at the wrong time, and everyone outside the Trump bubble can see it! Inside the bubble, they sense something is wrong and become perplexed, pedantic and paranoid. They’ve run the same mean-spirited xenophobic campaign as the last time, and yet their polling numbers just keep going down. Huh? Should we stay with this same campaign strategy? Or try something new maybe or maybe double down on it?

Historically, Democrats run to the left in national elections. Making promises of a worker’s utopia. Republicans historically run to the center, attempting to hide their true intentions. “Who me? I’d never defund your schools just to give billionaires a tax cut.” Trump runs to the far Reich going full term Fascist Bund. What could go wrong there?

Donald Trump is literally getting clobbered in the polls by women. At first, Trump was down 25% with women and still sliding further. Now imagine, 100 voters equally divided. Fifty men and fifty women. There is almost no way mathematically to overcome that deficit. You’d have to get almost 110% of the male vote to catch up. How likely is that?

The pressing hot-button issue of this election is reproductive freedom. How does Mr. Trump respond? By telling women; don’t worry, be happy. Those American women will be so happy under Donald Trump; they won’t even think about their loss of personal liberty. This passes for good enough in the Trump campaign. Donald Trump is spinning out of control.

Now Mr. Trump is calling for the police to rise up and fight crime in a vigilante sort of Kristallnacht. Take em’ in the alley and teach them a rough lesson, beat the shit out of them. Put them in the back of the van and disappear them. Trump promising millions of deportations and adding, it won’t be pretty. Toxic!

Pipe dreaming and thinking this sort of thing will work. This strategy will bring millions of Americans together in a mighty coalition to vote for me! Mr. Trump is appealing to the lunatic fringe of his own base. Mr. Trump closing the door on the big tent and losing the support of fellow Republicans, especially women! The Trump campaign has been a complete disaster without any redeeming positive features. The campaign is headed for the rocks at a high rate of speed, as the devil cries “More!” Details at eleven.

J. D. Vance has done for Team Trump what Sarah Palin could only hope to do. It is a mighty, mighty undertaking to underperform Sarah Palin, but J.D. is up for it! Haitians, childless cat ladies or just frightening small children J.D. is there. And now, the upcoming Vice -Presidential debate. Fox News is so confident, they insist Vice Presidential debates never change anything. Attempting to set the bar so low, you could trip over it. “What do you wanna watch that for? There’s some real good stuff on!”

Mr. Vance’s negative ratings soar to record levels. His extremist Christian Nationalist positions run directly counter to women’s reproductive freedom. When Donald Trump needed a running mate to help lighten his load, he gets a boat anchor making his problems worse.

Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are the standard bearers for their party leading the parade. So, Republicans running in state and local elections quake in fear. Do they sign on with Donald Trump? Not knowing what Mr. Trump might do or say tomorrow? Do they run as stealth Republicans who don’t know or mention Donald Trump? Or do they run as non-Republican Republicans who don’t mention their party affiliation at all?

Voter turnout is everything, but so is enthusiasm. There is a storm coming as Mr. Trump is losing support even among his base. States which should be safe states are no longer safe. This election looks to be a replay of 2020 only much worse for Republicans. For millions of Republican voters, there is no longer any reason to vote. And the chances are, they just won’t. Simply Trump traumatized into staying home.

An extraordinary election with a generational reshuffling of the deck included. The Reagan revolution found dead in its bed, murdered by its own excesses. Bringing about the mutant malignant rise of Donald Trump when there was just nobody else in the Republican universe. Trump riding on the Republican Party like a freeloading bronco buster, eventually breaking the Republican Party down to delusional and ineffective.

An eccentric orbit can only become more eccentric, until it finally breaks free immediately before crashing into something. Just another case of good defeating evil , by letting evil defeat itself.

Work for something because it is good, not just because it stands a chance to succeed. Isn’t it the moment of most profound doubt that gives birth to new certainties?
