Beware the dangers of false equivalencies. A killing is a killing, and a murder is a murder. If it’s okay to gun down a money-grubbing health care denying CEO. Where’s the line? Who is next? You know, your mother never liked me. It is a direct response to the people’s lost faith in the judiciary. People don’t feel the courts are impartial, so they act out. As John Kennedy said, “Those, who make peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable.”
The acceptance and the raising to folk hero status of the prime suspect frightens the potential next victims. You can shoot up schools, and nothing happens. You can’t shoot each other, and nothing happens but if you shoot at green royalty, things are going to happen. Money talks…loudly.
Clarence Thomas won’t be camping out in the Walmart parking lot or a Good Sam campsites any time soon. Private planes, private yachts and private clubs. From limo to location from location to limo. From private school to private grave living behind the palace gates. Never seeing the hunger or the wants.
Believing in their hearts of hearts, that they are faithfully doing a fine thing and fulfilling their responsibility to their shareholders rather than to their customers. You hire and pay them, but they answer to somebody else? They are taught from the early days of college intern status. Your job here is to make the company money. And in the end, all treatment is unnecessary as we shall all die regardless of intense intervention or treatment.
It is a frightening precedent in a frightening time. The opening salvo of the King’s reign, no pun intended. Copycats are almost a certainty with some Travis Bickle looking to impress some Jody Foster. The American public has signaled “More! Like That!” Saying, “Well, you let Kyle Rittenhouse off!” Wrong! Mama says, “two wrongs don’t make a right.” This CEO was gunned down because of people like Kyle Rittenhouse. Morons and idiots cavalier with guns and killings. But now, it’s okay because Kyle got away with murder?
Because we hate our healthcare system so much. We cheer when executives are cold-bloodedly gunned down in the street? I don’t know, what do you think? Degraded society, yes, no? Next stop title clerks and tag offices and used car salesmen.
It is clearly an important notice for the King’s plans for mass deportations. Maybe they won’t go along so quietly. I’ll see your police raid and raise you a gun battle. The Mayor will host a ribbon cutting ceremony over Zoom. The America we always wanted. Winston Smith outside of being a bit horny was a model citizen. Whatever they wanted him to say was fine with him.
Nazis want to be good Nazis. Stalinists want to be good Stalinists; they don’t stop to ask if they are a part of something evil. They just personally want to have the highest marks for efficiency and get promoted to an even bigger job. And if humanity and cruelty aren’t considered important, efficiency becomes much easier.
The rumblings have already begun, and we still have a month to go before the official end of the modern world. The King is already sparring with Canada. Everyone knows how hard Canadians can be to deal with. The King wants tighter border restrictions to keep Americans from getting out. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, almost 800,000 young and mostly educated left Russia. The King would hate to see something like that happen in this country. You always close the gate before you get out the branding iron.
I never knew we had a problem at the Canadian border before now. If the King is unable to subdue those irascible Canadians, we could be in for a bit of a rough ride foreign policy speaking. And the message is? Fight! Fight! Fight! Come on! Put up your dukes! We’re fighting with everyone, and today is your day! “I’m gonna huff and I’m gonna puff and blow your house down! I’m going to knock over your trash cans and pull down your clean laundry. The blustering braggart of Big Mouth Creek.
The King wasn’t elected on reputation for being law abiding. The American voter clearly said, we don’t believe courts or prosecutors. Or the FBI or the hundreds of witnesses or the Justice Department or the photographs or the timelines or the sworn confessions or state courts or grand Juries. We believe the King.
So, for now, the King has Carte Blanche to do whatever he likes. The ACLU can file suit, and Southern Poverty Law Center can shout but the King will do it anyway. You told him he could. The King can shut down the border if he likes and you’ll do what exactly? (It can’t happen here!) You’ll go back to work on Monday Winston, and you’ll write that new piece about the chocolate ration.
The King is trying to patriotically change the tax system so that working people pay 100% of all the taxes through tariffs and sales taxes. Headed for 21st Century Feudalism. The rich live inside the palace gates and travel in fine armored carriages. Learning from tutors and private schools about the truth of the world. The peasants and serfs roam the countryside trying to scratch out a living from the King’s Earth.
Twenty centuries and they ain’t learned anything about humanity yet! Twenty centuries and humanity hasn’t learned anything about erecting Kings.
“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” ― Frank Zappa
