If my work is not to be read here, let be because no one wants to read it. Rather than corporate governance deciding against it for you. Now, I understand if corporate governance didn’t care for my work. But it’s nothing personal, it’s purely financial. I would almost have more respect for them if it were political. But they would gladly post anything if you paid them enough. Crooked pharmaceuticals remedies that don’t half-ass work or lurid tales of necrophiliac love or AT&T cellphones.
You’re only allowed to shout hi, “Hey, look at my cat!” Through the spokes In between the advertisements. I got married! I bought a house! I had a baby, I had surgery! But nothing of weight or substance asking social questions. For that you must pay them! Hard cash. Then you can become an advertisement and can run ad nauseum. Just as long as the nickels hold out. It’s all fun and games until you begin to realize just how ugly and sick the whole reality situation really is.
The machine controls the message. The Billionaires owns the newspapers and social media; the newspaper owns the website. The newspapers and websites control all the writers. “In future, the boss would like to see something a little more positive in your work from now on.” Mama always used to stay, “don’t stay where you ain’t wanted.” She also said, “don’t feed the pigs unless you want them to get fat.” Mother was always colorful that way. And I ain’t wanted here and neither are you! Corporate candy floss to anesthetize your brain and numb your conscience into not caring.
You’ve already seen it, if you’re paying attention. Firings and late-night transfers. Apologists for the King. Don’t make him angry! “Well, I’m sure he must have had a pretty good reason when he said that.” The Russian Foreign Minister literally told the King to stick it up his Siberian ice hole. But barely a mention in the media. WW3, not news? What, me worry? A plane flight loaded with deportees is denied landing rights. A veteran and two innocent citizens were arrested on the street in Boston. That’s not news? Try and stay positive! “The King needs to arrest more and more! Yea!”
There are some things which the King has done for which I shamefully agree. The Houthis are nothing but Barbary Pirates who should be harshly dealt with. But you can’t ever agree with the criminally insane without acquiring some of their guilt. You can’t ever agree with Nazis even a little. You can’t ever even agree it’s a nice day without becoming corrupted. Because it is a slippery slope, and you’ll find yourself sinking into the morass of 21st Century equivalency mind pudding.
Many scholars and College Philosophy professors have often pondered the question. “What would I do if all of a sudden I woke up and found myself living in a Neoliberal Authoritarian Feudal state?” Me? What would I do? You’re looking at it! Someday I hope to be threatened with deportation. I’ve never been to Cuba, but I hear the weather is nice and I love to travel.
Would you become a freedom fighter for the resistance? Living in a barn sending secret messages (Claude’s shoe is brown) and hiding out from the secret police. Or would you become the Block Warden turning in the suspected and suspicious? Suspected thought criminals in sector “R” Reporting unapproved news again which could be harmful to the social fabric of emotional wellbeing. (They never comer up into the hills!)
Do you know what he said? He really said it! You know, I’ll tell you if you want, but if they ask. I’ll have to tell them that I told you. He said; the real reason millions of migrants are walking hundreds of miles in the hot desert sun towards the United States is because Capitalism is dying. And it is becoming a matter of simple human survival.
There’s no room at the Inn for these people. Too bad, sucks to be you. Go away or we’ll shoot like Christian “Hey, hey, you, you, get off of my cloud!” compassion. And so, the corporate unapproved message says, “move along now, you’re miserable poverty is stinking up my pretty ideal illusionary world. The crops are all picked, now scram amigo. Vamanous, before I have to run you in!
Just pretend you didn’t hear the message, most folks do. Don’t make a face and let on you know, or you’ll give it away. Everything is good in America, and everything is just fine. Pay no attention to the alarmists. It’s still the same America it always been, right? Sure, it is! They are all just jealous of the King’s mighty successes! That’s all! They all just wish they were Billionaires too! So, they could run the world get people fired, and push poor desperate people around without mercy.
There’s a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can’t take part. You can’t even passively take part. And you’ve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all.” – Mario Savio
And a time to walk away.
