It isn’t even the crisis itself but their reaction to the crisis. Loose lips sink ships and administrations. Dear Abby once advised. “When you’re wrong, admit it. When you’re right, shut up.” President Kennedy put it. “Success has many fathers while failure is an orphan.” But three days and counting and still they insist the conversation never happened. And if it happened, nothing bad happened and no one should be held responsible, because nothing bad happened.

Even if something bad happened, or didn’t happen, it wasn’t that bad! It wasn’t a secret war plan, it was a secret attack plan, only it wasn’t secret. Or maybe it was a war plan not an attack plan, who remembers these things? And even if was a secret, it wasn’t that secret. Even if it ever did happen in the first place.

That guy is a lying liar! He’s scum; he’s the lowest of the low! This is all his fault! Everybody knows he’s a liar!

Like the shoplifter caught red handed on video still insisting their innocence.

But it is really important for a Fascist government to look infallible. Someone you can trust to give away your civil rights to. Now that you won’t be needing them anymore. Squeaker of the House Tim Johnson says maybe the Federal Courts have way too much power. They interfere way too much with the King’s plans to create a Fascist utopia. Let’s do away with them!

You really have to stop and ask yourself, can one man really, really, really be that dumb? Is it all that good? The money and the power, that he can’t see the danger of taking the guard rails off of a megalomaniac? Let’s suppose you were an ignorant person and uneducated in history who knew nothing of “Absolute power corrupting absolutely.” Isn’t logical to have a way to turn off the mad King? Lest he lose his marbles and starts shooting his enemies? Or naming his horse proconsul?

Are the power elite really that gullible? To believe this sawdust Hitler will lead them into the promised land. His policies won’t destroy the American economy for twenty years. But they can get it while the getting is good. Ride this sucker all the way down to the collapse. He won’t turn on me, he likes me! Kulak labor, wages plus all you can steal.

Hitler promised the industrialists in Germany contracts for steel and guns and airplanes and submarines. The other side offered peace and there was no money in that. So, to German Industrialist’s Hitler was good for the economy and they couldn’t be bothered by his other policies. Hitler’s early successes proved to the nation that the NAZIS could be trusted with your civil rights. You won’t need them once they take over. Because they are always right, and they never lie. They’ll make the trains run on time and make the judges listen to reason.

So, you can see, they’ve stepped in a cowpie of their own making. Mister, we can’t admit a mistake is sending Petey Hegseth to Indonesia. Because when the King asked for the farthest darkest regions on the planet to send Petey, this is what they came up with. You go disappear for a while and talk to the Indonesians about the price of tea. But JD Vance aka, Instant War in a Can. Has to go to Greenland with his wife, what’s her name? I’m the man who escorted what’s her name to Greenland!

A more thankless task could not have been originated. Go insult these people for me by your very presence. To show up in a public space in Greenland where you are clearly not wanted. All to watch a sled race that means nothing to you or to what’s her name.

Mr. Vance comes as a provocateur. Lord Haw, Haw come to share his wisdom and share greetings from their new King! To measure for the new furniture and drapes. A more direct diplomatic insult has never occurred. Come to look around a little bit before we take over. What could possibly go wrong?
