I Wish I Didn’t Know

By David Glenn Cox

The Treasury Secretary says he sees no signs of a recession. You just have to laugh at such absurdities. A 25% tariff on automobiles and auto parts, but no sign of recession…yet. How about this one? Asian interests for some unknown reason are planning to divest their accounts of 2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS in US treasury bills. Other than that, everything appears to be Hunky Dory.

86 proof Pete Hegseth on direct orders from the King. Because other than “bottom’s up,” Pete has no original thought. The King, like Joseph Stalin before him, seeks to purge the military. And for the same reason as Stalin too. The King suspects their loyalty is not what it should be. Not to the United States but to the King. Three guesses, what will happen to the military. Every dictator wants absolute control over the military. The military is the only branch of government which could theoretically, at least, remove the King and make it stick.

Commodity prices continue to fall, but no sign of a recession yet. I’ve come to believe Wall Street interests to be as blind as Helen Keller. Living inside of a bubble where they see only their own interests and not the bigger picture. The world economy because of the King, hangs by a thread and Wall Street answers so? We hit an iceberg, so what? No water on my deck…yet.

The King declares the photo of him dressed as the Pope posted to the King’s own Twuth Social Media account to be Fake News! The media respond, “Oh well, that explains it then.” Wall Street has no issue with a pathological serial liar running the country. American farmers face an uncertain future, but it will be fine. Case and John Deere can just sell all that farm equipment to somebody else. But no recession yet.

Taking a meat axe to government spending won’t have any negative effects on the economy at all. It’s a bright and sunshiny day! Doing away with farm price supports won’t have any negative repercussions at all. Doing away with Section Eight housing vouchers won’t have any negative effects. Hospitals and clinics will thrive after taking eighty billion dollars in Medicaid funds away.

It is madness, the King declares 100% tariffs on films made outside the United States. But what does that really mean? Tax the profits of the film? Tax the cost of the film? Tax the advertising budget? The King seeks control and control only. During the Nazi purge of cinema, the best and the brightest left Germany for Hollywood. President Macron of France welcomes scientists and invites them to relocate to the European Union and they will go, never to return. Fermi and Einstein quickly left for the United States.

Our path could not mirror Nazi Germany any closer. Leni Riefenstahl, where have you been? Has Mr. Garcia been returned to the US yet? Memo from the desk of the King: To the Supreme Court. FUCK OFF! And the horse you rode in on. Wall Street has no concern over the death of the courts. It won’t affect them any when a fraudster games the system or robs them blind. Then they will look up and ask, “why won’t you do something? Why won’t you protect me? The very system which feeds and waters them is emaciated and destroyed but, it’ll be fine.

I would love to be positive, and I curse myself for the years I’ve wasted reading history. Ignorance is bliss! I wish I didn’t know what I know. The King fires tariffs at China and China threatens to liquidate its vast American holdings, but it’ll be fine. No recession, no way. No more FEMA, you are on your own now! And Hurricane season is right around the corner. In states like Floriduh, you almost want to root for the hurricane. Never have a people asked for it or deserved what’s coming more. Never has a free government done more to injure the wellbeing of its own people with  reckless wickedness. Satan’s only advantage in this fight is his experience and time on the job.

There will be a massive financial Depression. The likes of which have never been seen before. Just think of it? Not just blue-collar workers or auto workers. But doctors and lawyers’ scientists and business executives out of work with no future ahead of them. What do you need with lawyers, if the courts can just be bought or ignored? The King says so, that’s why!

Wall Street predicts self-driving tractors trailers are the next big thing! Because it will lower costs and eliminate overhead! It will also eliminate around 3.5 million truck driving jobs. That won’t hurt anything, will it? And if that self-driving truck runs you over and kills you, you could sue. And a fair court system would make you whole again, right? Oh yeah, I forgot, what court system?

But as dark as the future appears, it’s even far worse than that. When exactly will we save our planet from environmental degradation? Oh, that’s right, the twelfth of Never or the second Tuesday of next week. If the powers that be don’t believe in climate change. Well, then it can’t happen, can it? No recession on the horizon! No environmental apocalypse or brain drain. The lawless think the laws of gravity no longer apply.

Restaurant sales are down this quarter. The first thing to go. Uber sales down, too expensive perhaps? During the plague of the Black Death. There were two schools of thought. The first locked their doors and hid themselves away hoping the plague wouldn’t find them. The second school said let’s party like it’s 1399! Because they saw their future as inescapable, and there was really no longer any point in trying anymore.

“I see millions of families trying to live on incomes so meager that the pall of family disaster hangs over them day by day.

I see millions whose daily lives in city and on farm continue under conditions labeled indecent by a so-called polite society half a century ago.

I see millions denied education, recreation, and the opportunity to better their lot and the lot of their children.

I see millions lacking the means to buy the products of farm and factory and by their poverty denying work and productiveness to many other millions.

I see one-third of a nation ill-housed, ill-clad, ill-nourished.

But it is not in despair that I paint you that picture. I paint it for you in hope—because the nation, seeing and understanding the injustice in it, proposes to paint it out. We are determined to make every American citizen the subject of his country’s interest and concern; and we will never regard any faithful law-abiding group within our borders as superfluous. The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.”  – Franklin Delano Roosevelt
