It is appalling and reprehensible but sadly, a sign of our times. A United States Senator openly mocks her constituency. At a town hall in Iowa, voters assembled to express their concerns over a bill which if successful, would strip millions of their healthcare. “People will die!” the voters cried. And Ernst callously replied, “We’re all going to die.” It isn’t like the voters were worried about something important like prayer in school, the Ten Commandments or Transgenders using the restroom. This is only a matter of life or death.
Imagine, if you had a disabled child or an aging parent and someone said something like that to you. “Yeah, yeah, let them eat cake!” At one time, Donald Trump mocked a single disabled man. Ernst has kicked that record and her constituency in the head. Mocking the entire citizenry’s concern for the disabled in an entire state. I cannot think of a comparable example in all of human history. It is beyond and beneath politics to a level of a monster or a rabid stinking beast. Godzilla’s coming to stomp Tokyo flat! Singing, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Sucks to be you stupid weed benders!
Screw you farmers and the tractors you rode in on. Screw your petty concerns for your sick peasant friends and elderly relations. I’m voting for tax cuts for the wealthy, and you simpletons will just have to get used to it! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Ernst doesn’t care if her constituency shrinks a little bit. More money for the rich, that’s what’s important here! Even among the halls of the world’s most notorious political criminals, her statement stands alone in its galling heartlessness.
But as awful as her statement truly was. It is the contempt with which she holds her constituency making matters even worse. Ernst pooh poohs the voter’s concerns, looking squarely down her nose at them. Shut up! You hicks and idiots don’t know nothing! Ernst then tries the tired weak and failing argument. “Oh, we’re just changing the eligibility requirements and some people won’t be eligible.” But even among the extra stupid Republican voters, they know a death sentence when they hear one.
Not surprisingly, Ernst has received some manner of push back for her heinous remarks. So, Ernst does what any non-self-respecting Republican Senator would do when under fire. She mocks them again, only this time even harder. Is this a democratically elected government where an officer of said elected government would ever openly say such things? If Ernst had any real fear of an angry electorate removing her from office, would she ever dare to say such things? Or is this a Bourbon Monarchy, where the wretched are left to die in the streets, while the elite sip champagne and discuss the more than fair price of bread?
Ernst then made a video of herself walking through a cemetery, while sarcastically pretending to apologize for her deplorable, insensitive and callous remarks. Then Ernst quips, “Good thing I didn’t mention the Tooth fairy!” Wow, that is truly obnoxious. That’s car insurance commercial grade obnoxious. It reflects an attitude of sheer contempt for the citizens of Iowa. “I’m going to vote to kill you! And you idiots can’t do nothing about it! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!”
Watch closely, as not a single Republican takes any exception to her remarks. Pro-life, my ass! Mocking the concerns of the people she is supposed to be representing. The same people she took an oath to protect and defend. But that is where we find ourselves today in the United States. The illusion of representative government is long gone. The junta is going to do whatever the junta is going to do. And if you don’t like it, then you can just shut the hell up. As obviously, the Constitution does not allow for recalling obnoxious and offensive Senators, obviously.
Here in Arizona, Karen Taylor Robson is running for Governor and she’s tough on immigration. She’s tough on immigration in the same way I’m tough on heavyweight boxers. Karen has never held elected office before, and I’ve never boxed a single heavyweight fighter. You can’t be tough on something you’ve never done before. You could say, Karen Taylor Robson WILL be tough on immigration. Or if elected, she will be tough on immigration.
But that would belie her political inexperience. You see, to Republicans in Arizona; the Governor office is a starter position. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! She has all the needed requirements which Republicans are always hankering after. Her daddy is rich and he’s a big wheel in the state’s Republican Party. Wow, such an astounding resume’! What else do you need to know? Her campaign runs ONE commercial ad over and over and over, like the election is next week. For an election almost two years away. Clearly money is no object here.
Her advertisement centers around her endorsement by Donald Trump. (check # 104399) It is unlikely Donald Trump could pick Karen out of a line up, but Trump supports her wholeheartedly. Ironically, in the last election. The state’s Republican Party chose another foaming at the mouth Trumpette Republican, and they lost… badly. Kari Lake was then ejected like a spent shotgun shell after her two tries at a brass ring. Kari was taken out with the trash and unceremoniously dumped. Never to be heard from again.
But Kari Lake had a problem. She had this BIG, BIG mouth and famously told a room filled with die hard Arizona Republicans. “If you are a John McCain Republican, you can just get the hell out of here!” And they did get out by the tens of thousands. It was sort of like going to Yankee Stadium and saying, If you like Babe Ruth, then just get the hell out! So, this time around Republicans have learned their lesson. Karen Taylor Robson is a candidate with no experience of any kind, besides nepotism. But she keeps her mouth shut at least, at least until she’s elected.
Karen’s never been a state Senator or state Representative or even the senior dog catcher in Frog Town. No political experience whatsoever. But her Daddy’s rich and that’s good enough. After all, she’s only going to be a puppet doing what she’s told to do by the states rich and powerful. What exactly do we know about Karen Taylor Robson? She’s tough on immigration! Like Joni Marie Antoinette is sensitive to the needs of the sick and disabled.
