In 1934, in front of a large crowd. The German Fuhrer introduced a new “Blood Oath” of allegiance. No longer would German soldiers or civil servants take an oath to defend Germany. But they would now take an oath to follow Adolf Hitler, even to the grave. It was a small change while at the same time monumental. No one in the German media said anything negative about it, because they didn’t dare. Just as no one in the American media questions the Great Dictator’s massive Fascist military parade, for the same reason.
A Los Angeles media outlet reported that nearly one thousand people had gathered downtown for the “No King’s” demonstration. And as the helicopter flew over downtown, it was clearly more like five thousand. They call it television because tell a lie is too obvious.
Tanks rolling through Washington are just about as un-American a spectacle as you can get. The last time tanks rolled through Washington another Republican President was dispatching the bonus marchers. Our American eagle clutches arrows in one talon and olive branches in the other. We are supposed to be balanced and as interested in peace as much as war. Our national motto, ironically, is E Pluribus Unum, “from many one.” Now replaced by “You’re under arrest!”
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.”
And I, your Great (oh so great) Dictator shall arrest and deport them, without a fair trial!
The media described the “No King’s” demonstration as being only about immigration. They were careful to include Gay rights flags in their images to muddle the message as much as possible. Hundreds of thousands of Americans came out to protest against rising Fascism in our country. And the media went out of their way to explain it, as anything but. The word FASCISM is Verboten! The word dictator is Verboten! “The protesters don’t approve of SOME of President Donald Trump’s policies.” No, what they don’t approve of is an autocratic Fascist Dictator!
It was a common Nazi tactic to break up demonstrations by other political parties in Germany. Just as we have Fascists in cars and Fascists with guns shooting their opponents in this country. Their goal is to silence you and make you afraid. Paid provocateurs slip in surreptitiously to throw things at the police and discredit the demonstration. Years ago, I spent a week on assignment with Occupy DC/ Stop the Machine protests. Media came from all over the world to witness it. The American media would seek out the one guy with face tattoos and a neon blue Mohawk in a studded blue jean jacket with the sleeves torn off to interview. They would seek out the outlier and present him as the common denominator.
Myself, I spent the week with military veterans, lawyers and a Baptist preacher and average folks, none of whom were ever interviewed by the American media. There were cloggers from North Carolina. There were group photos taken of a giant peace sign. None of the truly interesting stuff ever made the news. There were provocateurs there just like from “The Grapes of Wrath.” Skinheads and Neo-Nazis who came to cause trouble and get their pictures taken by a willing and compliant media.
Speakers and music were presented every night, but it never reached the news. But let one person get arrested and the media were all over it. An acquaintance of mine got arrested. A group had gone to the National Air and Space Museum and entered as a group. He made a remark to the group that they ought to hang a banner from the museum balcony railing. He was arrested faster than you could say Trump’s an asshole. He was later released without any charges, just a headline in the newspaper. Occupiers threaten protest at Air & Space Museum!
I wasn’t there that day. I had gone to the Holocaust Museum. Because as a teenager, I had bought a book for a dime in a junk shop. “I Survived Hitler’s Ovens.” As a nerdy young man raised before the days of strict censorship. I was shocked and mortified by the book. The book inspired a passion in me to find out why and how. How could a nation of educated Germans allow factories of death? For two years, I read everything I could get my hands on trying to discover the how and why. Now, it feels more like an educational vocation. So, when I see the Great Dictator leading our soldiers in an enlistment oath. I didn’t have to go far to find the Nazi parallel.
Disturbances broke out in Los Angeles after curfew. Because the provocateurs had arrived after most of the demonstrators had left, but not the media. Shootings in Utah, again after most everyone had left and gone home. Odd, don’t you think? Why were the media still there after most of the people had left? It was almost like they were waiting for something to occur. How perceptive of them.
Engelbert Dollfuss was the Austrian Chancellor murdered by the Nazis in 1934. Herr Hitler at the time, was eating dinner in a restaurant after attending the opera. He was passed a note advising him of the assassination and was overheard to say. “I’ve got to get out of here before they think I’m involved.” It was too cozy of an alibi. Sort of like reading to school children, when you’d never read to school children before and had no literacy agenda on the table.
Love him or hate him, believe him or not. New Orleans prosecutor Jim Garrison is insightful to our narrative. Garrison tried to prove a conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy. And people up in high places didn’t like that. It had already been declared on Day One. That there was only one man involved. A patsy who had defected to Russia and spoke Russian like a native. A patsy who defected to Russia and promised to give away military secrets. A patsy who was provided with a plane ticket and allowed to return home at the height of the cold war with a Russian wife in tow, no questions asked.
A patsy given a job in the school book depository. A patsy who ran to the Texas theater after shooting a Dallas policeman for no apparent reason. A patsy identified by the theater manager who had not seen him enter. This is where the patsy met his handlers. The patsy earning only $50 a week had two one hundred dollars bills in his wallet, and an active military ID card. Do you know who has active military ID cards in their wallets? Not civilians! Not any Russian defectors!
There is more to the picture than meets the eye. They call it television because if they called it what it really is, you wouldn’t watch it anymore.
“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.” ― Joseph Goebbels
“I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.” ― Groucho Marx
