Some days it feels like living in a collapsing universe or a slow-motion train wreck. Vice President J.D. Dense, the world’s largest petulant child, gave an interview to Forbes. In it, he gushed pridefully and assured the world that Iran’s enriched uranium was now buried under tons of earth. Thanks to America’s bunker busting bombs. Come on! If I know that Iran emptied out those nuclear facilities almost two weeks ago, it’s common knowledge. If I’ve seen the satellite photographs of a line of trucks parked out front waiting to be loaded, it’s not a secret!
It would have been irresponsible bordering on reckless, for Iran not to have emptied out those facilities. Iran knew they were the target. The danger of radioactive contamination is ever present. Not to mention that uranium is worth its weight in platinum. It really makes you begin to understand what Trump sees in Mr. Dense. To get up in a televised interview and lie repeatedly with a straight face and smile. Unquestioned or doubted on a single lie he told. He could have said we bombed Iran with the help of flying pigs and the interviewer would have said “Oh really! How interesting!”
The President was worried and fearful that he’d fucked things up badly this time. So, he then declares Peace in our time, crediting himself, of course! Israel put out peace feelers for a cease fire to Iran. Iran’s foreign minister said no decision had been reached and that Iran wasn’t even speaking to the United States. Yet, no one doubts an obvious lie. They aren’t even good lies! They are ridiculous fabrications taken and accepted as the whole truth.
The Governor of New York announces “Isn’t this great! Isn’t this wonderful? We’re going to build a brand-new nuclear power facility! And it’s going to cost the citizens billions and billions of dollars and take years and years to complete. Making New York less safe but energy sufficient sometime in the distant future.” The US used to lead the world in new technology and now through corruption and public ignorance and apathy. A 1950’s dinosaur is declared the next great thing! Nuclear power is dead everywhere on the planet, except the United States. While other countries phase out their nuclear power plants the US plans new ones.
Always with the caveat “Ah, but this one is different! We’ve learned the lessons of Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima!” But we haven’t learned the lessons of cost overruns, terrorist threats, public corruption or nuclear waste storage . If the terrorists on 9-11 had flown the airliner into the Indian Point nuclear plant instead of the World Trade Center. New York City would be in a nuclear exclusion zone today.
All of a sudden, the former Shah of Iran’s son appears as if from out of nowhere and is ready to assume the reins of power, once the Islamist are gone. Really? Really? That’s the answer? The Shah of Iran was a corrupt dictator who so angered the Iranian people he was overthrown in a violent revolution and fled for his life. Now, someone thinks this is a good idea? What does the Shah’s son know about running a government? Nothing! But don’t worry. The United States will help him learn!
We can help him rebuild Iran with the help of American contractors. McDonald Douglas can help him build the New Iranian air force! Maybe a Kentucky Fried Chicken or a Taco Bell on every corner. We can help them build a new secret police force and new prisons. It seems the only thing the US leads the world in today is double dealing, public corruption and lies. I see advertisements for a Bitcoin credit card and a bank card offering your change from transactions in Bitcoin. In 1711, Great Britain began the South Sea Company. And the stock quickly went through the roof. House maids were becoming wealthy. Then it all collapsed overnight, and thousands were ruined.
Bitcoin’s value only rises because more money goes in than comes out. The moment that formula reverses itself, Bitcoin collapses. Bitcoin’s only major advantage in the market place is its money laundering feature. Criminals, scam artists and international drug dealers can put dirty money in, and it comes out clean and tax free too! Say Bernie Madoff three times and watch, he will appear! No guarantees, no promises, just a faceless money machine. “Ooh, I got me 92 cents in Bitcoin! In a month it will be worth $1.03!
Pete Rose was a man ahead of his time. One of the greatest baseball players to ever hold a bat. Who was banned from baseball permanently, for gambling and betting on games. Today, Pete would be a paid spokesman with a six-figure salary for one of the many gambling websites with his own TV show on ESPN! Here’s lucky Pete’s pick of the day! Gambling plus professional sports equals big trouble. Phone apps scream, CALLING ALL SUCKERS! The best part is if you’re any good at it, the gambling sites can ban you from betting. LOSERS ONLY! Lucky Pete’s Double parley!
Is the WNBA a sport or an event, like professional wrestling? With drama and violence, good characters and bad characters. Lady Hulk Hogan takes the ball but is blocked by lady Rick Flair. Hogan puts Flair into a double suplex until the referee suddenly awakes from her unconsciousness. The officiating is so bad the owners gave the referees a big raise. And always with a one- or two-point lead in the final score. Aww, and it was so close too! Maybe next time it will turn out differently!
Could it be that Capitalism is failing? Working people who once dreamed of owning a home or a new car can’t even afford McDonalds. Getting a college education is harder than ever. But there is no room at the top. You are no longer needed. Everything is computerized now with no real need for middle management. No need for ground floor opportunities.
In Texas (the one-star state) the cannabis initiative has failed. Not because the people didn’t want it, but because the state government won’t allow it. Legalized cannabis is the leading cause of declining alcohol sales nationwide. Never mind what the people want. Big money says “NO!”
Not only does crime pay in America. It’s the only thing which does pay. The Bureau of Labor statistics says the average hourly wage in the United States is $45 dollars an hour. Do you earn $45 an hour? When it reaches the point where only criminals and corrupt politicians can succeed. And honesty is a foolish hindrance to your career advancement, Capitalism is failing. The game Monopoly is a perfect example of the American way. One person gets rich and uses their money to bankrupt everyone else.
