Whatever they do to someone else today. Rest assured; they will have no qualms about doing it to YOU and your family tomorrow! If they build it, they will use it. And if they use it, they will use it indiscriminately. The Gestapo started out as just a small organization but did not remain so for long. A tool like that was very useful in an authoritarian society.
The very first thing which the Nazis purchased was a second-hand printing press. They began publishing a newspaper. “The Völkischer Beobachter.” The People’s Observer, clever huh? A newspaper dedicated to observing the people. To educate them on how to think about issues in a certain way. To sell their newspaper, the Nazis would beat up newsstand owners or newsboys who wouldn’t feature their newspapers prominently.
But the Nazis still had a problem, as many of the articles in their newspaper were simply crude and racist, and turned off the well-educated and refined. So, the Nazis purchased another newspaper, which told the same kind of stories with the same messages. Only more eloquently and refined, dignified and in an intellectual way. The same way Fox News purchased The Wall Street Journal. No more screaming and shouting and cursing about the Jews. Just intellectual arguments about the Jews. And the second newspaper went over so well, the Nazis bought a third newspaper. And just like that, just that quick. The other newspapers began to follow along or go out of business and the Nazi opinion became the prevailing opinion in all of the newspapers. Do you want to get beat up or sued for defamation in a crooked Nazi court?
I have written about Olga Lengyel before. She opened my eyes to the Holocaust in her book “Five Chimneys.” Ms. Lengyel survived for two years in Auschwitz. Her husband and her two children did not! Ms. Lengyel wasn’t Jewish or even half Jewish. She wasn’t a political firebrand; she was a nonpolitical housewife. She and her entire family ended up in Auschwitz because her physician husband was accused of buying non-German medical supplies and so was labeled as anti- German. AKA, anti-Nazi and so an enemy of the state to be disposed of.
The newspapers would feature editorials praising to the heavens prominent Nazis and scorned any and all, who weren’t anxious to Seig Heil to the Fuhrer. I went on Facebook to see what I could see. And their pages were filled with articles praising prominent Nazis and cheering the opening of a Concentration Camp by comparing it to Guantanamo. The reason they opened a camp in Guantanamo in the first place was to exempt the prisoners from American law. They wouldn’t have dared to open a Concentration Camp in Floriduh, twenty years ago! But now they can! And the Simian simpleton’s cheer! Hooray for our side! USA! USA! USA!
The simian herd are now well trained to hearing the language of the swill stick hitting the side of the bucket. Law? Fuck Law! I perused Statebook to find dozens of articles about how wonderful Elon Musk really is. He’s invented a cigarette lighter that feeds the cat! Just page after page of phony articles and paid trolls! Money doesn’t talk! It pays others to swear for it! With troll comments praising a self-absorbed narcissist who wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire. Praising a New CONCENTRATION CAMP being built in America. Land of the sleaze and home of the insane slave. “SLAVERY IS FREEDOM!” “They will come to love their slavery!”
Oh, but that camp is just for bad people! I read it in the media, so it must be true! They’d never put anyone like me or you inside of there. It’s just for illegal migrants! We’re SAFE! It’s just for those bad people. Democratic lawmakers were denied entry into Alligator Auschwitz. Just like the International Red Cross was denied entry into Guantanamo. Remember reading about that in your newspapers? Of course not! Nothing going on here? But you can’t come in! Because there’s nothing is going on here. Waterboarding? What’s that? No! Never! Nine! Verboten!
Statebook even had an adoring picture of Henry Ford with one of his loving parables. Ford was an avowed racist and antisemite decorated by the Fuhrer for his outstanding opinions about Jews. Ford once said the Great Depression would be worth it, if it taught Americans the value of hard work. See? There’s an upside to starving children and mass misery. Says the richest man in the world at the time. After WW2 began, Ford’s medal from Fuhrer was quietly returned, and all was forgotten about and forgiven.
Do you know what Statebook says is real bad and a really dangerous problem? Fireworks! Never mind the drive by shooting in Chicago, killing four and wounding eleven innocents. The problem is fireworks everybody! The Great Dick tator rammed through his complicit corrupt criminal Congress the most heinous act since Stalin’s purges. But the media focus on “Tax cuts!” Not the state sanctioned MURDER of the infirm! Robbing the poor to reward the rich. Only tiny little pinpricks of light are allowed through the water-soaked rag placed over your face during questioning.
The bill enlarges the power of the Gestapo. I mean ICE, but don’t worry. They won’t ever arrest you! But if you were to suddenly disappear off the street tomorrow, like in Stalin’s Russia or Hitler’s Germany. The media could be counted on to never report it. They tell happy stories of lost puppy dogs and little kitties returning home. Look what that wonderful Elon is up to! Never the stories of sick people dying unnecessarily, so a billionaire can get an extra $10,000 in his tax refund.
No one ever reported on the Lengyel’s arrest and deportation to Auschwitz! While working on this piece I wanted to get the correct spelling of the Lengyel name. Guess what Google told me? “Sorry, we couldn’t find any results?” But would you like to hear how about what that amazing Elon is doing instead? A book which should be taught in every high school is suppressed. Wikipedia still had the information…for now.
Fox News is straight up Fascist propaganda. CBS has been castrated! ABC is impotent as milk toast. NBC is benign. Only MSNBC still resists while always staying within the foul poles. They call it a detention center or an ICE facility, but never (Verboten) what it really is. It’s A CONCENTRATION CAMP! ALLIGATOR AUSHWITZ! Is a CONCENTRATION CAMP! And when the economy begins to falter and collapse. And collapse it will, under the weight of unbridled greed and state sponsored cruelty. No one in the media will ever tell you the truth about that either.
This is Independence Day, but I don’t feel very free or independent today. I feel myself a prisoner in an impending Fascist nightmare. So, I’ll pass on celebrating my freedom today, and I’ll wait on the next revolution.
