So, I was sitting on my couch, unsure of what outrage or subterfuge to write about today. But as I turned on the TV set to the news, the announcer says with a straight face. “Additional help is on the way!” Obviously, this is a masterstroke of pure unadulterated state propaganda. “Wow,” I said to myself. “That didn’t take anytime at all.” Just turn on the set and count to ten and they’ll serve it right up for you. Multiple lines, no waiting.
The “additional help” on the way were National Guard troops called up from Republican controlled states. Governors anxious to nuzzle their cheeks softly against the king’s pronounced gluteus maximus. Playing “me play too, daddy.” Sending additional help to Washington to help the unneeded and unwanted help! To help what? The militarized streets of the nation’s capital, that’s what. A fake, phony political stunt perpetrated by a headless junta. Reported on by the corporate news media as “Additional help is on the way!” And with a straight face too!
When they say stuff like that, it’s like a glitch in the matrix. Wow, you can really see it? Did they just say that? Is it a flood? Is it a natural disaster? An invasion? Or even side B of a Firesign Theater record? “Don’t move! Help is on the way! And remember tress rappers will be persecuted.” It’s beyond Orwellian. How it should be reported. “In an unprecedented and outrageous abuse of power, the President has militarized the streets of the nation’s capital.” And we get, “Additional help is on the way!” Hold on boys, we’re coming to save you! Hang on! We’ll be there real soon! Don’t give up the ship! Tippecanoe and Tyler too! “Additional help is on the way!”
And I feel it like a tent preacher on a Saturday night. People in the national guard are reevaluating their career choices. They did not sign up for this and they’ve seen and heard about the guard troops sent to walk around and be seen at the border. Then going back to the Holiday Inn. For weeks and months away from home. To be put on display for the king’s pleasure. “I your great king, will protect you from the night visitors who mar your sleep! “I will protect you! When nobody else would!” And additional help is on the way.
They are still trying to pump air into the flat spare of a summit. I watched a news report saying both sides got something positive out of the summit meeting. Picking the corpse looking for some morsel of positive events. They brought out a well-known and well-respected TV expert you’ve never heard of before to tell us all about the two leaders body language, that will tell us the real story, Pee wee! Roll the video Jimmy! “As you can see, the two leaders are greeting each other, and they’re smiling. These are confident men glad to see one another.” How do you get in on this gravy train?
She just made it feel so real to me. These two men walked up, smiled and shook hands. And she was able to determine how well it was going through her years of specialized training. An “Expert” was presented to promote the idea the summit was a really a big success. Nothing tangible to show but look at the way he smiled! That means good things! A smiling, confident leader can get things done! Did you see the way he took his hand? That’s positive!
Why not a native mystic or throw I Ching? Why not a voodoo doctor giving us his opinion on the summit? Or our staff astrologer “With Mars in retrograde and Venus rising, it means real good things are happening!” Just absolutely made-up stuff they pull out of their butts. Sister Sophia will now place herself in a hypnotic trance in an attempt to reach the other side. To ask the eternals about our summit futures. “I see two great men! Each glad to see each other! And they’re holding a meeting of some kind! And I see it is going well!”
To imply the unneeded is needed is pure North Korean styled propaganda. “We had to! Our great leader was provoked, and his wisdom was challenged. He had to send “additional help!”
The administration has had a big deportation problem. Big numbers promised aren’t the numbers panning out. And admittedly, raiding Home Depot parking lots and Taco vendors is not getting the job done. The Administration knows their time is short and they need to act fast. The ones they mention least are the ones they target most. Homeless encampments are being rousted. Native-born citizens given a choice of move or go to jail. Actually, they do offer treatment programs. From the Trump administration. In either case, the courts will be forced to turn them loose only to be arrested again.
You see, they offend the king’s eye. There are no poor in America! He has commanded it so! During the summit that wasn’t, during the press conference, the king was asked about possible sticking points. The king, being the King answered. “The Russia, Russia, hoax.” That is just so predictable, isn’t it? To be juvenilely and eternally stupid. “You know the one scandal no one but the king cares about anymore. That’s at least ten or fifteen scandals back by now. Least of all does Vladimir Putin care. But the king can never forgive a slight. “See! Because of you and your Russia, Russia, Russia scandal. This was hard! It could have been easy and wonderful, but because of you. We might have all died in a horrible nuclear holocaust. I hope you’re happy now!
Little big man Marko Polio says peace settlement hopes aren’t dead for the summit! Sure, it’s a good thing they left early. That’s a good sign! It’s always a good thing they didn’t want to stay for our banquet to accept our hospitality and show their friendly intentions. It’s a good thing they left early. No word back on Malaria Trump’s personal note for Vladimir. She was concerned about the children and thought maybe her personal touch would help. “Please Vlad, for me?” What a load of horseshit. It’s not really all the propaganda floating around out there which bothers me., it’s that they really don’t even seam to be trying very hard anymore. Volume over Veracity. Amplitude over absurdity.
