A liar lies only when necessitous. A professional liar lies as a matter of course. They lie because it’s expected of them. They lie because it’s against company policy not to lie. They lie because they think we will be disappointed in them if they don’t. The Dow Jones futures are way off this morning. They started sinking yesterday and the volatility index was way up at the close on Thursday. It’s Friday, and no one wants to be exposed over the weekend…because!
But first, let me tell you what the financial analysts attribute it to. Bad loans! Yeah, sure, that’s what it is! One bank has fifty million dollars in bad loans. In a stock market valued in the trillions, it amounts to losing a nickel between the couch cushions. But I suppose that lie will work as good as any. It’s the squall before the storm. Wall Street fears the “No Kings” rallies and they also fear the Dictator. They see the trouble coming right here in River City.
They don’t want to remain exposed because they don’t know what the Pennsylvania Ave. madman is capable of doing next. In any case, millions of citizens protesting against their government in the streets is bad for business. Financial channels don’t like bad news. They like good news because that sells more stocks! They would describe the Hindenburg disaster as a slight landing mishap. A good buying opportunity!
The Admiral in charge of the US military in Latin America is resigning. Couple that with Trump’s piracy on the high seas in Venezuela. Fun Fact: Did you know the President has no legal right to declare war and attack ships on the high seas? It’s true! And with an economy potentially teetering on a crash. Without the BLS report, Wall Street is flying blind. The private report by ADP showed a near historic drop in US employment, but few details. A net loss of 32,000 jobs when the orange madman got his panties in a bunch over +75,000 number.
On TV, there are more and more car commercials, and still more car commercials offering rebates! And low interest rates. It is the commercial equivalent of begging. I saw one yesterday offering a triple rebate! The auctions are filling up with repos. The price of oil is falling despite Russian oil being off the market. The oil price is too low for fracking to be profitable. Falling demand due to a weakening economy. I saw a national television ad yesterday, for an eyeglass company offering frames as low as six dollars. Six dollars? That’s cheaper than a McDonald’s hamburger! I asked myself why a company would spend that kind of money to offer their cheapest product? Because that’s what people are looking for.
Wall Street craves stability, and the dictator offers only chaos. Soldiers in American cities. Millions of Americans taking to the streets in protest. And new questions arise about US military leadership. Gee, it seems like only yesterday, when Joe Stalin murdered all his military officers for not being loyal enough. Then replaced them with loyal idiots who knew nothing and almost lost World War II because of it. It takes months to process retirement paperwork, and the Admiral is leaving in weeks.
Christian Nationalist phony Supreme Court justice Amy Coney Barrett offered. She didn’t know what the Supreme Court would do if the orange dictator disobeyed one of the court’s decisions. Gee, that’s obvious. How could she claim not to know? That’s some professional lying at its best! Duh! The court would do nothing! Wring their hands and pound their gavels and make idle threats. It’s the same old story, morning glory. If you kiss up to the dictator, you will eventually find yourself getting fucked!
Oh, the shock and horror. He might not obey the court? How could they be so naive? Do they not teach history in college? How often does something like this happen? Every time! Every time a dictatorship flourishes, they used the courts to back them up until they don’t need the courts anymore. Then the dictator dispenses with them like a headmaster adjourning school. Why would a corrupt Supreme Court justice bring that subject up in the first place, if she didn’t already see it coming? So why does Wall Street have the jitters? It was bad loans. Sure, that’s what it is. Bad loans!
It’s like a Chinese finger trap as the more dictator Trump represses the more the economy depresses. The more chaos he spreads, the more the economy contracts.
Malignant Mickey Mouse, house squeaker Mike Johnson claims. The Democrats shut down the government. It was Mike Johnson who personally shut down the house. The Democrats want assurances the Republicans will reauthorize the Obamacare subsidies, but for some reason, the Republicans don’t want to give them. I wonder why? 57% of those subsidies go to red states. 60% percent of Republicans say they want them approved. So? Do you think the dictator gives a shit? Why would Johnson shut down the house? Oh, wait, what am I saying? Johnson didn’t shut down the house! Trump shut down the house! Johnson doesn’t do anything without asking his boss first.
The government is shut down. The congress is shut down, and the court admits it’s powerless to stop the dictator. That sounds like a textbook definition of a dictatorship to me. The Dictator Donald the turd, extorts money from high-tech vendors for the Dictator’s vanity projects. “You don’t want me to instruct the Justice Department to ruin your business or put you in jail, do you?” That’s why the turd is going after John Bolton. There’s no slight too small and the orange elephant never forgets.
It’s not bad loans. The war has begun, and the crash is coming. Maybe today or maybe next week, but it’s coming. The Dictator has seized power. “Tin soldiers and Nixons coming. We’re finally on our own.” The revolution will be televised and it will be said to be, all your fault.
But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. ― Winston Churchill
“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.” – Harry Truman
