It feels as if a storm is coming, and there is nothing we can do about it. Moving relentlessly towards us, gaining in power and ferocity. Treasury secretary Scott Bessent AKA, Smuggy Bear, was asked about the economy and admitted “parts of the economy were already in recession.” A very sly, near lie answer. Truth with a callous boot. What he means to say is YOUR economy and MY economy are in recession. The consumer economy is in recession, but the investor economy is doing quite nicely.
The stock market rises daily while Americans and American businesses fall hourly. Starbucks, yes Starbucks, is closing locations and cutting employees. Torn to pieces by tariffs and an American economy blown to bits by idiotic tariffs. The prices are too high and the people are laid low, dying at both ends of the spectrum. I went to the Kroger the other day and up in front where they push the merchandise that’s not selling. There was a big table overflowing with brand name jars of mayonnaise.
I like mayonnaise, but at $7.00 a jar. I don’t like it that much. I can live without it at that price. Kroger was tipping their hand and making my point. Kroger had pallets and pallets of mayonnaise and no one was buying it anymore. Not at that price. Every hamburger joint in the country is advertising specials and value meals. Lower prices! The local Chevy dealer is advertising triple rebates as their available pool of customers dries up and blows away.
So when Bessent looks into the camera and hints smugly at the truth, I become enraged. It’s not possible that this nation’s financial brain trust didn’t know what these tariffs would do to the consumer economy. And if they did so intentionally, we’re talking about crime bigly. Can two realities be contained in the same space? No. But this is a case of a fool and his dummy. Over educated under socialized idiots who think in terms of numbers and not families. Obtuse economic theories and not the effects. Gee whiz, Mr. Wizard. If a weed bender like me can see it coming. How hard is it, really?
But I went to a different school of economics and graduated in 2009. I lost everything as my tuition in the crash and I have never fully recovered. It was the advanced school of hard knocks. With a syllabus of homelessness and hunger. Over ten million homes were foreclosed on, and here we go again. Wages and benefits have never recovered from the Depression which the banks caused. I have never recovered.
I later worked washing dishes with a young man fifteen years my junior. And I heard a different side of the Depression. He grew up being foreclosed on as a child. Having to pack his toys up in a hurry because the sheriff was coming to put them out. A lost generation, a generation with lowered expectations. Where I feared going to the mailbox. He feared answering the front door. A generation without an American dream.
These ivory tower idiots see artificial intelligence as saving the day. Why, with improved productivity, Starbucks can make a cup of coffee in half the time for their invisible customers. Chevrolet can sell cars to AI! McDonald’s can sell hamburgers to AI. Why, with self-driving trucks, AI is going to save them a fortune! But to whom will these trucks deliver too? Home Creepo is closing distribution centers, because remodeling the kitchen has suddenly become a low priority in the land of $7.00 mayonnaise.
The orange Trumpenstein monster met with Republican congress critters the day before the government shutdown began. And after the meeting, Little Mike Johnson, the little horn on the bighorn and venereal canker sore on humanity, told Republican members to vamoose and not speak to any Democrats on their way out the door. The government shutdown is intentional and purposeful. If you can’t fire all the Federal employees perhaps, they can starve them out. Perhaps AI can do air traffic control. Think of the savings!
Hence, you now know why Satan’s orange bowel renderings is so intent on sending in troops where they are not needed…yet. Shut off the food and shut off the healthcare. Shut off the section eight housing and watch what happens. The insiders and the outsiders! The ruling class and those eating grass. Welcome to the new economy, the one where you and I are not invited. But just think children, think of the possibilities! A crash large enough to repudiate all government’s debt and cash out Social Security in a bankruptcy hearing. Congress? What congress?
The US economy is too big to fail. The world will just have to eat it! As the billionaires grin. Think of it! A Brave New World of serfs and superiors. Bosses and underlings. And where does Donald Doofus Hrump fit into all of this? He is the designated distraction! If you didn’t have the orange clown to obscure your reality, you might begin to see just how intentional it all is. But with this aged, morbid mental moron in charge. You can believe they forgot and left the stove on, or that they didn’t know any better. They know better!
So they put their money into crypto dollars beyond the reach of the taxman. The rich man’s new dollar! Beyond the reach of the poor. If true, it’s the crime of the Century, though the century is still young. Building failure to construct a new dark age. An age without unions or a free press. An age without public schools or social welfare. An age where civil rights are connected directly to the digits in your bank account.
Propagandized paupers trained to vote against themselves. Trained to believe unquestioningly. So, they’ve built a Gestapo to deal with all the brown people who scare you so. What will happen to the Gestapo once the brown people are all gone? Do you suppose they will be disbanded or repurposed them to plant trees? Will they close down all of those ICE prisons or will they find a new purpose for them?
The ultimate irony is the courts and congress critters who helped to build this nightmare will be the first to be washed away. After Hitler passed his enabling acts, he dispensed with courts and congress. They mostly ended up in the very same concentration camps they had helped him to build. Same as it ever was. Know your enemy!
