Giving Away the Game

By David Glenn Cox

It’s really not so hard reading the tea leaves of Donald Trump. After all, after five years, we should have some insights, at least. So, it doesn’t take Nostradamus to predict that he wouldn’t release all the Epstein files as mandated by congress. Even though he signed a bill saying that he would. Instead, the regime puts on a media blizzard of distractions to cover up their illegalities. The king of corruption put on a show with pharmaceutical makers. He’s going to lower drug prices by 500%! Which means, if your prescription costs ten dollars when you purchase it with a single ten-dollar bill. You will receive $50 in change. Trump is grandiose.

Marko Rubio makes a very unimportant speech for some unknown reason. Trump goes to North Carolina to stump for a candidate, far past his normal five-hour workday. The lead story in the Epstein documents release besides the massive redactions is Bill Clinton, not the misadministration violating the law. Elise Stefanick is dropping out of her race for New York Governor. Ms. Stefanick was once considered a real comer inside the Republican Party. Then she got tied up with Trump. Now she’s running third in a two-person race. Trailing the Democratic candidate by double digits. And how did Trump help this loyal soldier? He didn’t. Elise who?

When Trump explains a bad situation, it was the worst situation in the entire world. Dark, black, hopeless, impenetrable and foreboding. Not just the worst situation in recent memory, but the worst situation ever in all recorded human history. No mortal human being could ever hope to solve it. No superheroes could manage it. Superman, Spiderman and Batman would all be stumped by it. But then, who could ever solve it? You know who! (Here I come, to save the day!) When Trump describes himself, He’s a stable genius with the powers of ten, no, a hundred, ordinary men! He’s the greatest person to come along since Jesus, Willie Mays or Ronald McDonald.

If there is a problem anywhere in the world, all Trump needs to do is analyze it. Blame someone for it. Claim that he fixed it and move on. Just two weeks ago, Trump claimed affordability was a new word thought up by Democrats. The answer? Simply claim the problem to be fixed. Inflation? That the problem was much worse before, terrible, and near catastrophic under Joe Biden. But he, and he alone, has fixed it. Just say that it’s so and go. Farmers are drowning faster than passengers on the Titanic. Trump proposes a $12 billion dollar bailout for a $40 billion dollar problem. All fixed! Problem solved! Happy days are here again!

Trump’s misadministration has been murdering fishermen off the coast of Venezuela as a pretext for stealing their oil. Killing them with quarter million-dollar a pop missiles. And when the shit hits the fan and people start asking questions. Trump distances himself from the event and leaves percolated pickled Pete Hegseth and Admiral Chicken shit to explain. But then, Trump doubles down and kills more fishermen. Because when he does it, it’s alright. But when the press gets a hold of it, it’s Pete’s problem.

Now, Trump has attacked ISIS in Syria in retaliation for an attack on American servicemen. Pow! Zoom! Crash! Boom! Boy, oh boy! We really let them have it right on the snout! They’ll think twice about messing with us ever again! Except, this is the same guy targeting fishermen. Who knows how many ISIS targets he hit camouflaged as simple villages? See that cow? Pow! ISIS logistics center! See that school? Blamo! ISIS training center! He lies! And he lies about everything! He lies all the time. He promised to release all the Epstein files. He lied. He promised to release the video of the second attack on the innocent fishermen and, of course, he lied about that as well.

But the bloom is now off the rose and the pedals are beginning to fall off. Time grows short from May to December. This is a fantasy regime, inept and incapable. Just for fun, just in case your life is nearly as nerdy and empty as mine. Try to find photographs of Trump’s Pennsylvania rally or his North Carolina rally from last night. Good luck! The only images available are of the Dear Leader photos at the podium. Scenes of the thunderous crowds and packed auditoriums. There are none! What first caught my attention was the crowd’s volume. It wasn’t the cheers of thousands, but the cheers of hundreds in a high school gymnasium.

Behind Dear Leader was a crowd all carrying brand newly printed signs declaring (Lower Prices!) and wearing brand new identical red hats. Clearly, this crowd was more North Korea than North Carolina. It was cooked and stage managed from the start. From propaganda 101; if the crowd is large, take wide angle photos. If the crowd is small, take close-up shots. But if the crowd is really tiny, take no crowd shots at all.

Trump renames the peace institute after himself. And then, has his cronies rename the Kennedy Center after him. I was tipped off by something a woman had said. “Trump renaming the Kennedy Center after himself was like putting his name on someone else’s headstone.” Ding, ding, ding! And then the lights came on!

Listening to Trump’s meandering brain droppings last night. Trump focused on his health and his mental acuity. Insisting he was in great health over and over. Never better! The time might come when he wouldn’t be 100% but that wasn’t now! That was a long, long ways off. And he would tell us when that happened. But he felt as good today as he did fifty years ago!

The speech had all the earmarks of a man overburdened by a fatal diagnosis in denial. Returning over and over to his successful cognitive tests. A man trying to convince himself the diagnosis was in error. But this is Trump we are talking about. He flows in particular redundant patterns. When Trump insists on telling us over and over and over, that he’s not slipping mentally. It is because he knows he is slipping mentally. And when Trump insists over and over and over, that he’s never felt better. He’s dying.

The physical signs are all there. Why is he renaming national monuments after himself? It’s because his thoughts have turned to his own mortality. One of the Kennedy Center protestors said, “It’s wrong to rename a building after someone who is still alive.” Ding, ding, ding! Trump, through his thoughts, words and actions, has given away the game. He’s planning for his future, without being in it.

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend’s were.
Each man’s death diminishes me, (Some more than others) *
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
– John Donne
