History teaches us the megalomaniacal dictator will push as far as they successfully can and then push for a little further. The Nazis remilitarized the Rhineland with unloaded weapons. France and Britain did nothing. It encouraged the Nazis to push for the Sudetenland, and France and Britain capitulated. In 1923, Adolf Hitler attempted to overthrow the Bavarian government. He received a two-year prison sentence but only served nine months. If he’d received a twenty-year sentence, World War Two probably never would have happened.
The dictator sees a weak government as an invitation, as the parallels are obvious. The Nazis used propaganda as their stock in trade. The party’s first purchase was a printing press. Their first publication was the Völkischer Beobachter (The people’s observer) It was a crude and ugly publication appealing to the dull-witted and the thundering herd. It was followed by other publications using more refined language and qualified adjectives only to speak the same messages.
Fox News begat Newsmax which begat Blaze TV, begat America’s News Voice, begets The Daily wire begets the Drudge Report, begets CBS. The public is now near powerless to resist. They all said the same things. It was good that Trump did that. It was real good he did that, Anthony. No mention of civil law or decent international conduct. Might makes right! .Go ahead, drop bombs and kill people; they asked for it! That’ll teach em!
After Elon Musk (the man made entirely of shit) had ruined his car company by working for Trump. I innocently opened Facebook, only to discover a host of articles extolling the virtues of a man made entirely of shit. Elon gave away a car to a kid who helped him fix a flat tire. Elon was helping the environment. Elon rescued babies from a burning orphanage. There wasn’t a dime’s worth of truth in any of them. And suddenly, I remembered the Völkischer Beobachter. They told similar stories of Nazi bigwigs, and when I said so. I was kicked off of Facebook, and I have never returned.
It’s a garbage land of propaganda. It’s the people’s observer. Trump’s misadventure in Venezuela is our warning shot across the bow. We have entered a new phase and a new step down on the road to fascism. The unlawful, immoral attack on a sovereign nation for the purpose of plunder. A weak government has made it all possible. A weak-kneed partisan congress and chickenshit courts. Encourage the dictator to reach for more. They haven’t even got a handle on Venezuela yet, and they’re already talking about taking Greenland. Trump threatens a whole host of nations, and hardly a discouraging word is heard.
The United Nations unanimously condemns Trump’s action and the only American media outlets to cover the story were me and C-SPAN 2. Not even on the main C-Span channel. The media frames the issue of what Europe might do instead of telling you Trump’s behavior is barbaric, illegal and Hitler-like. Carving up the world to suit his own liking. Trump announces Venezuela will send us 30 to 50 million barrels of oil as tribute. “Hail Caesar!” Heil Hitler! Stealing a nation’s wealth in the name of weak-kneed American democracy. But first, billions of your tax dollars must be infused because the private sector oil industry wants no part of it..
A funny thing happened on the road to World War III. Manufacturing in the US declined for the tenth straight month. No, you didn’t see that headline in the news. The stock market keeps rising, buoyed by only good news. The last time stocks rose while manufacturing fell was in 1929.Ten straight months of decline indicates an economy with little purchasing power. Living on credit cards and payday loans. Manufactures are reducing inventory stockpiles as the shit rolls uphill until it stalls entirely. It’s not just Joe Six-pack and Molly Party Dress feeling the pinch. Ever so quietly, some pretty big-name companies like AIG are going to the Federal Reserve asking for emergency loans. What? You didn’t hear about that? It wasn’t in all the papers or on Fox News or Facebook? How about China and Japan dumping billions of dollars in US Treasury notes; did you see that one?
Trump has euthanized the Bureau of Labor Statistics. They won’t be troubling Trump anymore with their worrisome statistics. Everything is fine. Everything’s is just wonderful! Our victorious troops are headed for Stalingrad! “In a way, the worldview of the Party imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it. They could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening.” – George Orwell.
Secretary of dumbass Pete Hegseth is reducing Senator Mark Kelly’s military retirement pay. Because Kelly said something that Hegseth and the other orange Nazis didn’t like. It should be a wake-up call to every American and to every soldier, sailor, airman and marine. Kelly said nothing illegal and didn’t repeat any classified information like some people we know. It should be grounds for Hegseth’s immediate impeachment. But snore, the Romper Room congress will do nothing. They will wring their hands and lament for the cameras, but there is not a testicle to be found in a cargo of them.
The Republicans are beyond hope, but the Democrats aren’t much better. “Two chickens in every garage!” Their message is silence, and their actions are inaction. They should be screaming for presidential impeachment and impeachment now, and impeachment forever!. Eugene Debs famously said, “I’d rather vote for something I want and not get it. Than to vote for something I don’t want and get it.” It’s better to go down fighting for what is right than to stand vacantly in the muted crowd for protection. You can’t be blamed for doing something wrong if you don’t do anything at all.
“I fight for my corner! I leave when the pub closes.” – Winston Churchill
We have begun a new chapter. We have finished casting mere aspersions and have begun fixing our bayonets. We are on the road of conquest, and the time to take action is now. Yesterday, in a rambling, slurring jumble of word salad. Trump mused, “Why do we have to run against these people in elections?” Meaning maybe we will have mid-term elections and then again, maybe not.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” ― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn
