Donald Trump has found a new drug of choice, call it an Epstein vaccine. As long as he waves his war club around. Epstein stays buried beneath the headlines. He’s threatening Iran because he’s so worried about those poor people. He’s threatening the UK because they’re talking to China and he doesn’t like that. He’s threatening anyone who sells oil to Cuba. He declares Cuba to be a threat to the health and well-being of the United States. If that isn’t the definition of an insane dictator…please tell me what is?
It’s like living in a bad dream and not being able to wake up. The Senate Democrats seizing on the public anger over ICE and the Minneapolis murders. Quickly reaching an accommodation with their Republican brethren to continue funding ICE. Way to hold their feet to the fire, fellas! Show em who’s boss! They made them promise to ask ICE to be nice from now on, and not kill anymore citizens without a good reason.
Trump knows Minneapolis was a failure and seeks to change the subject. Here’s an idea. How about a tax cut on importing Venezuelan oil? The oil company’s said they didn’t want it, but if you put it that way? Oil companies can never resist a bargain. Gone are the grandiose plans for rebuilding Venezuelan infrastructure. It looks like a victory, even if it’s not. And only the US Treasury is the loser in the deal. But it’s only millions of dollars, and what’s really more important here? Money or Donald Trump’s prestige?
It looks like Wall Street is headed for another meltdown today after having a rough go of it on Thursday. The same thing happened in 1929. There were mini-quakes and tremors, but the market always rapidly recovered. Until one day the market started selling off and it didn’t stop. World’s reserve currency, Fuck you! Could today be that day? There is a trembling fear on Wall Street. What if the dollar’s decline doesn’t stop? Maybe threatening other countries on a daily basis is a poor policy choice? Marvin the Martian Musk suggests maybe he will merge SpaceX with Tesla. Before someone notices Tesla’s financial evaporation. Before Wall Street notices that all is not well.
Remember way back a month ago, when they said Bitcoin might fall below the $90,000 mark? Today, the criminal coin might fall below the $80,000 mark. Fear is the order of the day. Confusion befuddles the wisest investors. There seems to be no safe harbor. Trump’s insanity has rankled and mangled world markets, but good. Maybe the Treasury Secretary will calm the situation with some wise words or soothing syrup, or maybe not. You see, he’s not allowed to mention bad things, only good things. Why, if he were ever allowed to talk about bad things, some might get the idea Donald Trump wasn’t the perfect dictator.
Maybe the Buena Vista Social Club is a danger to our youth. There is madness in every direction and sparks on every avenue. We hear he is a whiz of a whiz, if ever a whiz there was! I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore, Toto. You see It looks like Washington, D.C. And sounds like Washington D.C. but it’s like an alternative universe filled with sleepwalking zombies. Why, oh why, haven’t they begun Impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump? Good God in heaven, what are they waiting for? What catastrophe will it take to wake them from their supine slumber? They maybe might impeach the wicked witch of the Noem, maybe. Or maybe one of the flying monkeys. They are seriously thinking about it.
But have you noticed? All shipments of drugs from Venezuela have ceased with the arrest of just one man. No more murdering innocent fishermen is necessary. Trump has gotten what he wanted and now has no further need of a murderous pretext. File it under: “things you won’t see on the six o’clock news.” You can clearly see now just how much Donald Trump was really concerned with drug trafficking.
The United States has descended into a full-blown authoritarian dictatorship. Complete with secret police and concentration camps. The public is up in arms, literally protesting in the streets by the thousands as Democrats feel around inside their pants checking to see if they still have a penis. No worries, no hurry; someone will see that iceberg coming up ahead and change course. It will be fine.
Last night was the world premiere of “Malaria” at the dead Kennedy Center. The touching story of a Slovenian sex worker made good. A story just like “Pretty Woman” except without the pretty woman or the good-looking millionaire. Don’t call it a documentary. Documentaries are informative! This, the producers claim this is a cinematic experience. A gut-wrenching cinematic experience. Conservative groups are buying up blocks of tickets trying to goose the sales numbers, but still can’t find anyone willing to go see the film, even for free. Word on the street says concentration camp inmates might be forced to watch the film if they become unruly.
But it’s the pageantry and the phony excitement. All that was missing was Joseph Goebbels making a speech at the Sportspalist. Malaria told a gushing Fox News interviewer, they wrote an original score and theme music, just for her titled Malaria’s Waltz. I’m sure all the kids will be dancing to it any day now. But the film correctly encapsulates our times. A phony, fake film about a phony, fake First Lady and her phony, fake crooked, corrupt dictator husband, imitating a phony, fake American President. Something straight out of Stalinist Russia. Stand and applaud when the [Applause] sign is lit, and don’t be the first to stop applauding when they turn the light off.
Malaria calls Donald Trump the Director of America. After all of these years, and she still confuses the word dictator with the word director. But it’s a minor mistake. The American media present Trump’s ballot theft in Georgia as the actions of a cranky old man beating a dead election horse. They have no conception of the true meaning of the word “sinister,” and most of them were born in this country. It is not really all that unusual, most Germans had no idea what the Nazi Party was really all about. Just a funny little man with a funny little mustache. Marching around with flags and torchlight processions, and by the time they finally did figure it out…it was too late.
“Thus it is that no cruelty whatsoever passes by without impact. Thus it is that we always pay dearly for chasing after what is cheap.” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
“You do not become a ”dissident” just because you decide one day to take up this most unusual career. You are thrown into it by your personal sense of responsibility, combined with a complex set of external circumstances. You are cast out of the existing structures and placed in a position of conflict with them. It begins as an attempt to do your work well, and ends with being branded an enemy of society.” ― Vaclav Havel
