Not YOUR State of the Union

By David Glenn Cox

Oh, how they cheered! It was all so wonderful! Good news abounds everywhere! A room filled to the rafters with millionaires, billionaires, wannabes, spiders, and hacks, all deliriously happy. Did my eyes deceive me? Or was Brett Kavanaugh the only Supreme Court justice invited? You must always agree with Der Fuhrer, or you won’t be invited to his celebrations! Oh, how they cheered! Millions thrown off food stamps! Hurray!

It was Triumph of the Will 2.0. Good news everyone! Millionaires and billionaires are doing well! Millions are thrown off their healthcare, ain’t that great! Why, yes, it is! It truly is. Because this speech wasn’t made for you or me. This wasn’t good news for working people. This wasn’t a speech aimed at you and I at all. This was a propaganda film with small slices of truth interspersed. As the population grows, more Americans than ever do have jobs. Left unasked, not because it’s not important, but simply because they don’t give a shit. Are Americans prospering or struggling? Who cares? We’re doing great!

You could save $5,000 on your mortgage. If you could qualify for a mortgage. You could save even more if you were buying a mansion in the South of France. With an average home price of over $300,000. A ten percent down payment is 30K. Most of those people in that room last night own more than one home. And they leave a new car at each home. They vacation twice a year at expensive exclusive retreats, and they worry about food stamp recipients. And they cheer at the thought of lessening their great tax burden.

Not one mumbling word about struggling Americans or the homeless. Because they just don’t care.

“Are there no prisons?” asked Scrooge.

“Plenty of prisons,” said the gentleman, laying down the pen again.

“And the Union workhouses?” demanded Scrooge. “Are they still in operation?”

“They are. Still,” returned the gentleman, “I wish I could say they were not.”

“The Treadmill and the Poor Law are in full vigour, then?” said Scrooge.

“Both very busy, sir.”

The predator class is doing well, and the prey class, not so much. And it will not get better by itself. There’s something being missed and totally ignored by our North Korean news media. I mean, besides failing to point out Trump’s petty display of disfavor towards the Supreme Court.

Jeffrey Epstein is the loose thread on the sweater. If you pull that thread, the whole thing will begin to unravel before your eyes. Epstein traveled in the circles of the rich and powerful. He provided them with children to have sex with. Then he used that information and sold that information to intelligence services. To the people pulling the strings behind the throne. Republicans and Democrats all partying together.

Donald Trump was accused by an Epstein survivor of raping her at 14 years of age. She sued and received a settlement from the Epstein estate. The FBI interviewed her three times, yet only one, heavily redacted interview appears in the Epstein files. Laws be damned, they are still covering it up. The different floors of Epstein’s mansion had different ages of young girls. The younger they were, the higher the price. Epstein was involved in an orphanage. Understand?

This thing keeps spreading out like a puddle of oil. And it becomes darker and more depraved the deeper you go into it. Dead bodies of young women found in a mass grave in Mexico, not far from Epstein’s Zorro ranch. It is a documented fact that Epstein ordered books on sadomasochism. With rumors of two young women strangled during sex and buried somewhere on the property.

Jeffrey was protected and treated with kid gloves. A New Mexico state investigation into the Zorro ranch was stopped by the Feds. Epstein faced 35 charges of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. It should have earned him a life sentence. If it were you, it would have. But Jeffrey gets a slap on the wrist. An international child sex trafficker gets 13 months in night jail.

Republicans cry, why didn’t Merrick Garland investigate Epstein? Because he had been told not to investigate. Epstein had the goods on too many powerful people. Leave him alone. He’s only raping and murdering the little people’s children. It’s not like they are important to us.

And then you begin to see the American caste system. The wealthy and powerful are beyond the reach of law and justice. The billionaires. The Elon’s who marries, fathers children and then throws them away when they bore him. Then, on the level below, are the hangers- on. The congress people and cabinet officers who aspire to become billionaires themselves and join the first-class club level, so they might gain invitations to their parties.

Below that are the wishful thinkers, the judges and apparatchiks who think they are doing a good job by pleasing their boss. They’ve got good jobs and high salaries, and they aim to keep them. They don’t think they are of the lower echelon. They think they are in the first rank.

“Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they’re so frightfully clever. I’m awfully glad I’m a Beta, because I don’t work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don’t want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They’re too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I’m so glad I’m a Beta.” – Brave New World

A spy and an international serial sex trafficker protected by the United States government. Shhh! Not the one you see on TV, but the secret one, the unmentioned one. People in other countries are losing their jobs and going to jail over Epstein connections. But in this country, not even an investigation into the co-conspirators, or into the largest co-conspirator of them all, mentioned over 38,000 times in the Epstein files. With witnesses swearing under oath of his unlawful and immoral activities. And how the room did cheer for him! Times are great! Never better! It was the best of times and it was the best of times!

Do you begin to see how much they care? It’s not their children being raped and abused. Their children are going to Harvard and Dartmouth, while your children can’t afford to go to the doctor. A burgeoning neo-feudal society. The rich and wealthy live in the palace, and the peasants starve and sleep outside in the cold. Freedom’s just another word for stop kidding yourself. But I’m doing alright! Until you’re not. Until they take your job away or until you get sick, then on your deathbed maybe you’ll discover you were only a peasant after all.

In feudal England, they once had common land. Land which belonged to everyone to use. Then the wealthy and powerful fenced it off and declared it was theirs! On our American landscape there is less and less common land and less opportunity. ICE wasn’t created in a vacuum and it’s not about immigration. It is about you and me! The camps are about you and me! And how they cheered and cheered for their king!

This is our Earth. By rights, it belongs to everyone of us. Better to live in the ashes of our making than in a prison of someone else’s. Better a poor person dying on the altar of justice than a wealthy slave, foolishly dreaming of bettering themselves. The average American has more in common with a homeless person than they do with a Congress person

“When a majority of the people are hungry and cold they will take by force what they need. And the little screaming fact that sounds through all history: repression works only to strengthen and knit the repressed. The great owners ignored the three cries of history. The land fell into fewer hands, the number of the dispossessed increased, and every effort of the great owners was directed at repression. The money was spent for arms, for gas to protect the great holdings, and spies were sent to catch the murmuring of revolt so that it might be stamped out. The changing economy was ignored, plans for the change ignored; and only means to destroy revolt were considered, while the causes of revolt went on.”
