And so, as the sun sinks slowly into the west the ship of reality has sailed from the port of Donald Trump. Gone are the streamers and complimentary beverages this is a ghost ship filled with ugliness and delusions of grandeur. A flying Dutchman on a Challenger mission, “Go, for throttle up.” The reality star has made America afraid to turn on its televisions. Afraid to watch the news, afraid to see what’s coming next, treed by the howling wolves of madness. Why not a national lottery…What day will he finally pop? What day would you pick? Without a scorecard you cannot possibly keep up with the orange Fuhrer’s enemies. Basically, in the name of brevity let’s just call it …everybody. Every single swinging dick he comes in to contact with is a potential source of conflict.
You can’t do them all just the greatest hits from his cutting off your nose to spite your face collection. Moving the Republican Convention — The mad King doing his best Napoleon complex, “I shall move the convention if I don’t get vhat I want. Oh, I am so Pepe Le Pew clever.” Only, it is not just a question of moving the location to a different building and moving his big orange fat ass. There are also fifty state delegations and they need hotel rooms and rental cars and places to eat. This isn’t one night only, “The Rolling Stones” this is the power elite and they need security. What do you mean, there are no limos available? We’re meeting at…Denny’s? Yeah, the taco truck was all booked up.
“When they begin to loot, we begin to shoot,” the most objectionable word is “they” that’s what makes this a particularly ugly phrase. They that subliminally unnamed but well-defined group. Them, not us. You know who I’m talking about, them! The monsters are due on Maple Street and there is nothing you can do about it but to protect yourself from…them. Followed of course by the word “we” we who? We the men with guns? We who are supposed to promote love and tolerance? We who are supposed to be our leaders? We the people will shoot, we the people? Or we who have the guns are sending a message to you who don’t have guns but with the ears to understand. We killed him, and we’ll kill you too if we have to. Watch your step and tip your hat.
Things might have gone differently in Minneapolis if on the first night of protest police had shown up with ministers, Imams and rabbis. Coolers filled with soft drinks and sandwiches. Sending the message of de-escalating the situation it’s hard to riot with a sandwich in your hand. Sending the message that you’re willing to talk and listen. Instead police arrived with tear gas and rubber bullets, what message did that send? (see above)
Arresting the officer for third degree murder why not just spit in Black Americas face? Why not add the charge of disturbing the peace while you’re at it? This was a reckless callous indifference to the outcome of torture ending in the destruction of an American citizen. This guy is Auschwitz shower room attendant material and he enjoyed every minute of it. It was premeditated in that it was on going standard and practiced. This guy had eighteen citizen complaints and wore them around the station house like a badge of honor. You don’t need a hood to think like a Klansman you just need to think in terms of them and us.
Follow the programming, bad things only happen to bad people because they really, really deserve it. Ghettos and unemployment are due to lax morality and poor career decisions and it doesn’t have to make sense when talking about…them. Then, you too can become a potentially violent sexually dysfunctional relationship killing sociopath. Wait, I know it sounds bad, but you get to beat people up whenever you like at work and there is nothing, they can do about it! Not too many jobs with that perk.
Not too many jobs where you can advocate violence against the people you work for and get away with it either. But this has become the Ralph Cramden on roller skates Administration. Watch out Gilligan that’s an atomic bomb! Careful with that ax Eugene. Up at all hours tweeting from the orange room of the White House threats and presidential proclamations. At least the Corona virus task force gave him something to do, something to keep his tirades close to home. Now he peers out the window all day looking at the Trump Monument formally known as Washington Monument. (he forgot to tell you) The call is coming through but the phones not ringing. The porch light is on, but no one is home, there are toys in the attic.
Nature abhors a vacuum, and the Chinese see their opening. While the United States is led by Coo Coo for Coco Puffs, the Chinese tighten their pressure on Hong Kong and reset their sites on Taiwan. Under the Truman Doctrine we are supposed to defend them but under the Trump Doctrine we don’t. The Sudetenland, Austria, Czechoslovakia…? They are, after all Germans, sound familiar?
Our world is crazy because Trump is crazy. The office of the President is functionally inoperative. Spewing nonsense and invective telling the Governor of Minnesota he would call out the National Guard after the Governor of Minnesota had already called out the National Guard.
The time has come the walrus said to talk of many things, this motherf*cker is crazy. You can’t even see normal from his house. He is suffering from an extreme mental illness, and we are suffering because of it. The steal yourself rich wing of the Republican Party won’t stop him because they see the falls coming on Shit Creek in November. The ball of string will continue to unwind to Fantasia in technicolor. Strawberry Fields, nothing is real.
“Without a global revolution in the sphere of human consciousness, nothing will change for the better in the sphere of our being as humans, and the catastrophe toward which this world is headed — be it ecological, social, demographic or a general breakdown of civilization — will be unavoidable. If we are no longer threatened by world war or by the danger that the absurd mountains of accumulated nuclear weapons might blow up the world, this does not mean that we have definitely won. We are still incapable of understanding that the only genuine backbone of all our actions, if they are to be moral, is responsibility.”
― Václav Havel
