Sympathy for the Devil

Falling through the universe at the speed of life

Representative Devin Nunez has tested positive for Corona Virus. Those wishing to send donations or sympathy cards should remember that the virus has no permanent address. No word has been given on the condition of Mr. Nunes famous cow. The virus is said to be in fair condition and resting comfortably. Doctors ordered an immediate chlorine bleach enema for Nunez and have treated him with a new experimental drug therapy called a placebo chloroquine.

Democratic Representative Bill Pascrell wants Nancy Pelosi not to seat the 120 treasonous Republicans who signed on to Trumpy’s Coup attempt. Senators and Representatives swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and by supporting the overthrow of lawfully elected Democratic government they are in fact ineligible to be seated. Adam Schiff takes the opposite tact warning, “We don’t want to become them.” Tolerating treason does not make us become them it makes us worse than them inviting worse in the future by inviting another attempt. They will keep trying until they get what they want.

In Post War West Germany, former Nazis were forbidden to run for office. “Well gee, how is that fair? In a democracy shouldn’t everyone be eligible to run for office?” Nope, the Nazi Party had been outlawed. They had overthrown a legitimate government and instituted a reign of terror killing tens of millions of innocents. The German Parliament said, “Nein! No second chances.” But we promise to be good this time. We’re the new reform Nazi Party!

Aw, come on we weren’t serious. We weren’t really going to overthrow a valid election. We were just funning, you know just humoring  orange tubby.  Come on, it was just a political stunt to appease our base! We weren’t really serious about it! Geez, we were not really serious. No, I don’t need a blindfold, what would I need a blindfold for? Politicians have been taken out and shot for attempting to subvert the will of the people. It’s like Nazis; I don’t believe in the death penalty but in the case of Nazis and treasonous Congressman, I’ll make an exception.

Honestly, it is not realistic to charge all 120 Republicans with treason. In Roman times they would take ten percent of a seditious military unit to decimate and have them executed.  Pick 12 and prosecute. Treason has no statute of limitations.

The Republicans had a plot to overthrow FDR using disgruntled veterans’ groups to rise and force Roosevelt into accepting a corporate minder in his cabinet. No differently than the Trump Administration the scheme failed spectacularly, and the veterans all went home. The founders and funders of the debacle had direct ties to America’s elite. They didn’t have egg on their face they had treason on their face. FDR waved a little piece of paper at them, “You have been charged with treason against the government of the United States. If found guilty you will be executed by a firing squad or spend the rest of your miserable life in prison.  No, FDR didn’t want to become them, he wanted to become the opposite of them. The Republicans had attempted a coup and failed. From then on, FDR had them by the short hairs.

Pope John Paul II forgave the man who attempted to murder him. He did it because of the teachings of Jesus Christ but also out of a certainty the assassin would never get his rifle back. Adam Schiff says, “I’m sorry, here’s your rifle. Promise me you won’t ever do that again? Okay? Then we’re good!”

The founders of our Republic had no illusions, they knew if captured by the British they would be executed. They had signed a treasonous document against the King of England. “No wait, we didn’t really mean it. We were just firing up our base…you know!” The King had no illusions he would have hung the whole bunch of them finished his dinner and gone to bed. There is no parley with traitors! This is a criminal murderous assault on the rights of every single American voter. It is a deadly virus that must be exterminated and not negotiated.

This little fantasy, that Trump and the treasonous Republicans have cooked up has gone too far to say, “excuse me.” But this is how they fundraise through fear and hyperbole. “Barack Obama is a Muslim, Hillary’s gonna take your guns and Gay’s want to recruit your children.” They make up stories about Seth Rich and Hillary’s server without any concern for who gets hurt, even if it’s the United States of America. They go one step further and signed their names to a seditious document asking for the elimination of Democratic norms and requesting a court ordered dictator to rule instead. “Buy the ticket, take the ride!”

For the orange moron what can be expected from a pig but a grunt? He has an excuse; no jury in the world would find him mentally competent to stand trial. But for the others… they should be tried and punished. “Come on now, if we ever hope to accomplish anything we all need to get along.” If you think you’re going to accomplish anything by negotiating with a nest of seditious traitors you’re this generations Neville Chamberlain. An attempt was made upon our lives and on our government, any efforts to avoid prosecutions encourages supporters and invites another try at some later date. The message it sends to the Republican traitors is, “We are so stupid that we deserve whatever we get.”

“THERE were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror—that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.” -Mark Twain

Any punishment meted out to traitors is but a fraction of what they would mete out to you, if you give them another shot at it.
