The Sons and Daughters of Benedict Arnold

Falling through the universe at the speed of life

By David Glenn Cox

Benedict Arnold is the most famous of American traitors, but only because he did it first. Arnold was an aggrieved man. Others were taking credit for his accomplishments, and the bumblers on George Washington’s staff didn’t see his greatness. Now, when you’re an army officer and a war comes along and you aspire to greater rank and authority, you have to make this war count. You probably won’t get another one.

The British offered rank, money, and authority. As if the British Army would be dumb enough to put a traitor in charge of something important. “You shall be our General in charge writing quills for the North American continent. And we shall send you abroad to get you out of the way, where you will die an ignoble death.”

A simple case of if I can’t get what I want here, I’ll go over there. The only thing stopping him was principle and convention. It was only loyalty to a band of rag tag  rebels, who didn’t appreciate his greatness anyway. So what, he became a traitor. But he got what he wanted and that’s all that really matters, right? He stuck his thumb right ole George Washington’s eye. It looks bad when staff officers jump ship. Boy, he sure showed him!

Many sleepwalk into becoming traitors; they follow their state, rather than their country, into a civil War. But isn’t it obvious? They didn’t get what they wanted. Their loyalty was misplaced, but clearly visible. If they didn’t get what they wanted, they would smash the machine and go to war…as disloyal Americans. Traitors to the cause of George Washington and certainly to the cause of Abe Lincoln.

Charles Lindbergh, was one of the most popular celebrities in the country, when he took to the podium. Just two months, after the Nazis had invaded Poland. Lindbergh said, “a war within our own family of nations, a war which will reduce the strength and destroy the treasures of the White race,” and he further asked, “let us not commit racial suicide by internal conflict.” And who did Lindbergh suspect of wanting this war? Well, he just got back from Germany where the Fuhrer patted him on the head and gave him a shiny metal. So, you take a guess. Does this not have a familiar ring to it? (Jews will not replace us!)

Lindbergh should have fallen off that stage; it would have been better for him. His speech labeled him a dupe for spreading Nazi propaganda and Lindbergh was labeled a subversive because of it. He was not allowed to officially serve in World War II. He wasn’t deemed honorable enough to wear the uniform of an American private. He was disloyal to his country and had once rooted for the other side.

“Loyalty to country ALWAYS. Loyalty to government, when it deserves it.” – Mark Twain

“But remember, I still get to pick and choose. If I don’t like the government, I don’t have to follow orders or do what they say!” But it’s not like they’ve asked you to pick up an empty rifle and bayonet your way through the gates of Moscow in January. Put on a mask, get an injection, sit down, and quit yer bitchin.

During World War Two, they had Axis Sally and Tokyo Rose. Just two women offering up alternative facts and opinions to the public, discriminated against because their conservative point of view. The same voices whispering the same messages, into the same ears.

The temple of the perpetually irritable. Always angry with the lord and with the government. And always on a holy quest to right the wrongs of reprobate sinners and just plain Joe’s everywhere. They once shouted at a little black girl trying to attend a public school. They bombed the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and they beat up the Freedom Riders. They want what they want, and they don’t care about court rulings or laws, unless they agree their position. Otherwise, they are free to disregard all other instructions.

They are free to disregard free elections results if their side says too. Never mind that by doing so they are violating their pledge of allegiance. Supporting a congressman or Senator who supported the insurrection, is supporting the insurrection. You might as well smash that window yourself. It could be you on “Traitor” for a day! It doesn’t matter if you love Donald Twump and want to sell him your daughter. If you support  criminals, you are a criminal.

If you aren’t a criminal, why aren’t Republican voters telling their representatives they want a full and fair January 6th investigation? A story from the Civil War, as Robert E. Lee was hearing the case of  a deserter. He said, “Relax soldier, you’ll receive justice here.” The soldier replied, “That’s what I’m afraid of sir!” The Republicans don’t want the investigation, because they know that they’ve been caught red handed, in treason and sedition. They wanted what they wanted and didn’t care one wit for what the law or the Constitution said.

Fuck George Washington! I want Twump to be President, even though he lost the election. I don’t care about anyone else; I want what I want! I’m a selfish Patriot taking up arms against a freely elected government cause the man on TV says I should. No longer even a political Party it’s just an angry amalgamation of malcontents, bigots, and the jabbering herd. The lynch mob and the conspiracy theorist or the late-night preacher, spouting the word of God and Twump.  Penny stinkers taken from their innocence as partisans and walked off the plank into criminal idiocy.

It doesn’t matter how you feel about Donald Twump. The event that occurred on January 6th was a criminal event. If you don’t support the investigation, you support the criminals. You are diametrically opposed to the American form of government and are traitors to the land of your birth. You are the Sons and Daughters of Benedict Arnold.

“Whenever his liquor had begun to work on him, ole Pap nearly always took out after the government.”Mark Twain
