It is the culmination and a long time in coming. Exposing both the top and the bottom. The expulsion of the two African American Tennessee legislators displays the corrosion of the Republican Party. The super majority in Tennessee makes themselves paternal, patriarchal, and contemptible.
I had mentioned before that the first act in taking power in Germany for the Nazis was to expel the Socialists from the Reichstag. The Nazis were openly contemptuous of Democracy. While the Republicans still cling to a paper-thin illusion, but only for the TV cameras.
The Tennessee two were expelled as an example. The Republicans don’t like what they said and rather than treat with them and deal with them respectfully honestly or fairly expelled them. Political crucifixions on an Easter weekend. Nice. Times have changed, 100 years ago these Republicans would have lynched them in a tree. 60 years ago, these Republicans would have sicked police dogs on them and turned their fire hoses on them.
“Tonight, as Tennessee House Republicans push forward to schedule vote on our expulsion, Speaker Sexton orders the gallery cleared as crowd chants “fascists.” – Justin Jones
Unprecedented, as the only Tennessee legislators ever previously expelled were guilty of legal crimes, not a breach of decorum. The Republicans didn’t just expel two men. They expelled every person in their districts as well. The Republicans denied representation to every citizen in a fascist and ugly un-American fashion.
The Republicans in Tennessee have proven without doubt that given the opportunity these Republicans would turn back the clock to apartheid and Jim Crow. As they exposed themselves to the public as sedious cowards.
The Republican Party put on display before us what they truly are. The January 6th insurrection has never really ended and continues unabated. Tennessee is in rebellion once more. The Republican speaker Sexton tweeted out the video to Trump and Don Jr. In a jibbering, cringing, drooling, sneering, servile, “look at what we did!”
The Republicans ramrodded through of the appointment of Clarence Thomas, despite ethical concerns which have now returned with a vengeance. A Judas goat and a kept fat pig. Lolled with money and gifts stuffed fat on corruption. Will the Republicans now support now his Impeachment…not a chance. Do the right thing? Represent the outrage of the American people? Do the right thing in the face of conversion? Not a snowball’s chance in hell.
These Republicans will fight tenaciously for Thomas as he is their kept fat pig. Sure, Thomas is corrupted and contemptible, but the Republicans don’t care. They don’t care how it looks or how it smells. This is the Party of George Santos and Andy Ogles, liars and fraudsters stealing a paycheck from the American people. Pawns doing the bidding of the King and the Bishop. Do these Republicans care how it looks or smells? Not a chance in hell.
These Republicans have projected their black and white world images onto the cave walls convincing the chained penny stinkers of its reality. Guns over children, pollution and profits over people and repression uber alles. Rejecting all the colors of reality and forcing free Americans to live as they proscribe, according to the whims of thugs, billionaires, and tent preachers.
The Republicans do not respect law decency or democracy. They want what they want, and they no longer have any qualms about how they get it. The Governor has declared it Confederate Heritage month in Mississippi, let that sink in a while. Celebrating rebellion and sedition. Tennessee has metaphorically fired on Fort Sumter.
Genni Thomas the wife of kept man Clarence was waist deep in the January 6th sedition. And she raises dark money for insurrection still. Yet, she expects us to believe her husband Clarence like Sargent Shultz had no knowledge of it. A bridge too far.
“We cannot negotiate with people who say what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is negotiable.” – John F. Kennedy
Reich’s Fuhrer Ron DeSantis has declared open hostilities against a minority group in Florida. Threatening theme parks isn’t Conservative, it is the opposite of Conservative. It is totalitarian fascism. Passing enabling acts against the people for the sole purpose of raising himself up above the swine. To gain higher office he would build the camps and fire the ovens.
Morality? Get real! DeSantis cut his teeth working at the notorious Guantanamo prison. Do you honestly believe he gives a shit about your rights? Do you honestly believe at this point, that any Republican cares about your civil rights?
“Fascism is the stage reached after communism has proved an illusion.”― Friedrich von Hayek
This is their belief, Hayek is their golden idol. Democracy is for suckers. Your civil rights come at the end of a bayonet.
These Republicans chose Trump over Democracy. They chose Trump over the will of the American people. Not because the Republicans like or respect Trump, but only because when the King can steal everyone can steal. What thieving criminals wouldn’t want one of their own dimwits in power? Willing to subvert Democracy and the freedom of every man woman and child in the country.
Those Republicans still choose Trump over Democracy by blaming the courts and the prosecutors and the Democrats. Blaming everyone possible for Trump’s predicament, except of course, Trump. The Republicans choose Trump over the Constitution and choose Trump over the rule of law.
“The time has come the walrus said, to talk of many things. Of ships and strings and sealing wax of cabbages and kings.” We must begin to accept that this isn’t just about Donald Trump or Clarence Thomas or Kevin McCarthy or even George Santos. This is about a corrupt political Party rotten to the core. Willing rob the poor, the sick and the elderly to fill the largess of the wealthy. To offer up burnt offerings to their golden calf.
The Republicans preach with book in hand, but they have no morals or scruples themselves. They use the book as their sword and shield. As they chase prostitutes and money and gladly smirk as they depose democracy. Let the battle be joined and let us all understand what is at stake here. Nothing less than the survival of our nation.
“Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans, born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage, and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world. Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”
― John F. Kennedy
