The Warm Cocoon of Corruption

The Party of law and order and the Texas Governor Greg (Bubba) Abbott calls for pardoning a convicted murderer even before the murderer has been sentenced by the court. You see, Bubba saw a story on Fox News where the murderer was portrayed as the victim and the victim was explained to the audience as the bad guy.

The murderer was ex-military, and the victim was exercising his First Amendment rights marching in a Black Lives Matters protest. The murderer felt threatened and so exercised his Second Amendment rights in a killing Bubba describes as “Stand your Ground.” The legal community calls it unprecedented for a Governor to interfere in a court case. But then the victim was supporting Black Lives Matters and his killer was ex-military.

This is justice in Republican America. Get your story on a propaganda network, and you don’t need lawyers. Just days after the Tennessee legislature voted to expel two Black members for breaking decorum the Texas Governor destroys all appearances of it.

Why bother to show up for Jury duty? The Governor will decide justice based on a Fox News story.

An old saying that goes, not all Republicans are Klansmen, but all Klansmen are Republicans. The saying is now obsolete as the Republican Party has exposed itself as criminally corrupt to the bone. Our friends can do no wrong and our opponents and do no right. The January 6^th treasonists can kill and maim police officers and are called political prisoners by Republican members of Congress.

In an upcoming documentary financed by his boss and benefactor Harlan Crow. Clarence Thomas describes himself as just a plain guy, a man of the people. More comfortable in an RV Park or a Walmart Parking lot than hanging out with the jet setters and the 1%. I don’t know, do you think maybe he’s lying about that? Do you think when Harlan Crow put Ginni Thomas on his payroll at $120,000 per year that Clarence might have suspected perhaps that was wrong. A breach of ethics, perhaps.

Clarence puts his finger to his chin and answers, “What me worry? Gee, I didn’t know.” George Santos still can’t explain where all that money came from and doesn’t even bother to try anymore. Tennessee Freshman Congressman, Andy Ogles, who also lied about his resume’. Has yet to fill out a campaign finance forms that were due at the start of his campaign, long before winning the election. But they are both kept safe and warm by Kevin McCarthy in the warm cocoon of Republican corruption.

Florida’s answer to the Stay puff Marshmallow man Ron Desantis threatens Disney again, with new “Tolls and Taxes.” Again, unprecedented for a state official to threaten a private business for having an opinion. But it is only the thrashing of a drowning man. Disney won’t pay any tolls or taxes. Disney’s customers will pay the tolls and taxes. Ronnie threatens to punish the public to seek his revenge on the state’s largest employer for outsmarting him.

Ronnie is sinking in the polls fading like cheap barn paint and so becomes shrill. He’s been out Fascist by the master Fascist. Bill Barr the former Attorney General who was complicit is distorting the Mueller Report calls the case against the King of all conmen in Manhattan “weak.” What else could he say on Fox News? Michael Cohen was found guilty of his part in the Hush money affair, and who do you think was on the other end of the phone? “Weak.”

It should be clear by now that Republicans don’t give two shits and shoelace about justice, fairness or the rule of law. The Republicans use the cudgel of Fox News to explain away their crimes. To make the lessor cause appear to be the greater. The Party of racism, xenophobia and homophobia pandering to the dull witted and uneducated. The Party of angry old men. “Hey, you kids! Stay off my lawn! No, you can’t have your Frisbee back! I’ll teach you!”

The Fox News knuckle dragging Morlock cultists believe it’s all a plot by the Democrats to keep Donald Trump from running again. When the Democrats would like nothing better than to see Trump run as the Republican nominee in 2024. But surprise, surprise Fox deemphasized what else Barr said about Trump’s legal issues eventually dragging him down.

I have always held to the belief that good does not actually defeat evil. That evil will defeat itself because it is evil and cannot act in other than evil ways. That good people are sometimes slow to react to evil because they don’t recognize evil, while busy living their lives.

This isn’t a Republican Party in a Democratic form of government, but rogue Fascist Party intent on using melodrama and sophistry to bring about a right-wing dictatorship. Where Judges are bought and sold like used cars where Congressman give the bird flipping off ethics. A party of criminals and thieves representing Billionaires, polluters, and the murderers of children.

Robbing the children of their birth right, robbing them of their opportunity. Robbing them of an education and robbing them of life itself.  

But be of good cheer for these Republicans have shit in their own nest. The Party of George Santos, Clarence Thomas and Donald Trump have awakened the sleep giant of the American people. Another month ticked off the calendar and the Republican House has accomplished nothing, absolutely nothing!

The 2024 Election will be a watershed. Either it will be the end of Republican book banning and scapegoating or it will be the end of America as we know it. I feel very confident this nation will rise in revulsion at Republican Fascism. Gerrymandering only works in close elections. Gerrymandering can’t fight a landslide and the evil that controls the Republican Party has exposed itself as lawless, reprehensible and most of all evil.
