Wolf! Wolf! Wolf!

Way back when the world was young, during Donald Trump’s first impeachment hearing. Trump was accused of withholding Congressionally approved military aid to Ukraine and trying to coerce the Ukrainians into investigating Joe Biden. The Trump campaign dispatched Rudy Giuliani to the scene.

Attorney General Bill Barr said Giuliani’s accusations weren’t credible. Then the IRS whistleblowers came forward with more accusations, which under cross examination fell apart. They claimed The Justice Department slow walked charges against the Bidens. The Trump Justice Department slow walked the charges. But never mind that part, it was still the Justice Department.

Kevin McCarthy made a little soliloquy the other day before reporters, explaining he’s considering opening an impeachment investigation. But what struck me, explained why Kevin never got the lead in the high school drama club play. His hand and arm gestures were trying to sell the case his mouth couldn’t make. Consider the case of the boy who cried wolf. If the boy had just said, “there was a big wolf.” Maybe they wouldn’t take him seriously. But by waving his hands and arms excitedly, the wolf story becomes far more credible.

Mr. McCarthy was quick to define his terms; he wasn’t opening impeachment hearings, just an impeachment investigation. FOX News Translation: Biden to be Impeached! And the reason is obvious, the Hunter Biden’s laptop story is dead. The Republicans have ridden that pony  as hard as they could until it has dropped from exhaustion.

The Jimmy Jordan stunt cycle show is considering charging Mark Zuckerberg with contempt of Congress. Why? Because Zuckerberg has name recognition, that’s why. Jordan has accused Meta of withholding documents in Jordan’s “They’re being mean to us Conservatives” investigation.

A spokesman for Meta says they’ve already turned over 50,000 pages of documents both internal and external. But that’s not good enough. If the Jimmy Jordan stunt cycle decides to charge Zuckerberg. It will be left up to the Justice Department to decide whether to prosecute. Any wagers on that? Don’t forget to wave your arms around wildly.

Senate Republicans fear crying wolf could backfire on the Party. They advise looking forward and not back. But they miss the point. The legal walls are closing on Donald Trump. There are some Republican members of Congress who fear what other information could leak out from the Trump prosecutions. So, their policy is “WOLF! WOLF! A big ass wolf! Impeach Joe Biden! Charge Mark Zuckerberg! Barbie’s a Communist! Distraction makes the heart grow fonder.

Now Jimmy Jordan wants a whole new series of Meta documents because he still can’t prove his case. So, he will just keep demanding documents and waving his arms. But there are no amount of documents, that will ever satisfy Jordan’s need. The point is to make lots of noise Joe McCarthy style. Wave his arms around, make noise, create a distraction to prevent the diminishing of the Republican Party.

Rudy Giuliani admits under oath that he told lies about election workers. There were no baskets of illegal votes. No flights from North Korea and no thousands of dead people voting. The end of the road is becoming obvious, and chips are beginning to fall where they may. Jordan and McCarthy already know the backstory and their only hope is to create a distraction. Impeach Joe Biden and charge Mark Zuckerberg! It’s all a plot! Everybody is out to get us!

The end is near, two years of Marge Traitor Greene. Cat fights and fur coats and helium balloons. Two years of nonsense and stunt cycles. This is illustrated by the decline and fall of Ron DeSantis. Running strictly on a culture war, the harder he tries the lower he falls.

The numbers for the great orange pretender are beginning to fall among Republican voters. There will be no mass formations of Republicans flailing themselves and seeking penance and forgiveness at being taken in. Instead, they will quietly walk away alone. But like an overstimulated child becomes exhausted  then the apathy sets in. Nobody is going to be exciting to them anymore.

They aren’t buying Trump and are growing tired of his constant exhortations. Trump has nothing new to offer and nothing new to excite the muddled masses.

Rush Limbaugh begat Bill O’Reilly and Bill O’Reilly begat Glen Beck and Glen Beck begat little Tucker Carlson. But Tucker Carlson begat no one. When Fox News fired Tucker, it wasn’t a changing of the guard, it was the end of the guard. There was no replacement waiting in the wings and so there is only silence.

The Trump mummies are all burned out. What else can you show me? There are only stunts and threats of investigations. Gregg Bubba Abbott put pontoons in the Rio Grande River. A thousand-foot-long barrier. Just long enough to fill a TV screen. The Federal government threatens to sue the state of Texas and Bubba says, “Bring it on!” That’s what Bubba wants is attention. Headlines and TV cameras. The tough guy saying “Knock this chip off my shoulder! Step across this line.”

It is the death throes of the Conservative movement. There is no leadership and there is no spokesman for the movement. Phase two, push phony Astroturf groups. “Yeah, I’m tired of both Parties too!” So, you get Robert Kennedy Jr. and “No labels!” No labels except diluting the Democratic vote! It is an admission that the Conservative movement is dying.

Trump is facing a legal tsunami. Ron DeSantis is teaching the world just how unlikable and detestable one candidate can be. In the wake of the Florida pro-slavery movement. DeSantis says, “Don’t blame me; I just work there!” And it leaves the Republican Party dead in the water, leaderless and rudderless. With only stunts and brush fire wars to beat their drums and flap their gums.

The danger for the Democrats is apathy. The certain feeling we’ve got this election in the bag. The Conservative movement is down, but not out and is most dangerous when wounded.

“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt
