Let Us Have Done With You

By David Glenn Cox

At first Donald Trump said all the charges against him were political. All partisan and all made up “fake news.” Then he couldn’t wait to get to court so he could clear his name. Suddenly, Trump changed his mind. He wouldn’t testify at his trial. Trump maintains he’s already said all which needs to be said. (a first!)

Trump complains the court proceedings are keeping him from the campaign trail. Then Trump tells the Supreme Court, “No hurry! Take your time deciding if I have immunity or not.” Jack Smith went to the Supremers to cut off Trump’s delays up each rung of the legal ladder. Why would a defendant not want his case resolved? Unless of course, the defendant fears the outcome.

Nixon went to the Supreme Court to maintain those tape recordings as his personal property. The court shut him down, and Nixon had to cough up the tapes. And from there, the Nixon Administration began to unravel and fall apart. A similar Supreme Court ruling denying Trump immunity would be equally crushing. “It would be official” Trump is vulnerable and targetable.

One word from the court and Trump’s sword and shield is gone. It’s not partisan, the Supreme Court says so. If the court says Trump doesn’t have immunity for crimes committed, while in office. Trump becomes fair game for one and all. Just waiting for the various courts to tear Trump into little pieces.

If the court rules Trump does have immunity, it must break all legal precedent to do so and will set the public’s hair on fire against the court. What is to be gained by that?

In the real world of hard political calculations, it is already obvious that the world is moving half a step faster than Trump. He won’t win any national elections anytime soon and his name on the ballot will only drive away mainstream voters.

Republicans would like to win elections but Donald Trump parroting the Nazis isn’t going to get that done. Donald Trump is running from prosecution and couldn’t care less about Republicans winning elections. So, the Republicans and Trump run on similar tracks at cross purposes.

Trump says, Immigrant blood is poisoning America. Is Trump subliminally speaking of his own wives and children directly? Or just ranting about immigrants generally? Immigrant women take the jobs American women find too distasteful, like marrying Donald Trump and squirting out anchor babies.

And the broadcast media loves to put those Trump droolers on the air. It makes for good copy and entertaining TV. To see these sad-eyed confused individuals, speaking of their love of Donald Trump in a Queen for a day freak show nation sort of way. Very quickly their subject matter devolves down to “Jesus is coming!” or “The Pope controls Social Security! Birds aren’t real!”

The veneer of rational sanity is quite thin. But the idea of questioning Trump supporters at a Trump rally? Really? Were they really expecting rational answers or comic relief looney tunes? Something to scare the bejesus out of the general public with a display of mass authoritarian insanity. So many Iowans agree with Trump. But it was a Trump rally, it was a looney tune Woodstock!

Ask Dante, which way are we going here? There is no salvation and clearly the plotline descends towards hell. For Donald Trump all news is bad news! The mailman is not his friend. There is no method on earth to maintain Trump at this point when the end is inevitable.

The Supreme Court could rule in Trump’s favor opening up a firestorm of criticism during an election year. But why would they want to do that? What advantage would they gain? Trump’s not winning any elections, why should they stick their heads in the lion’s mouth for Trump? What can Trump do for them or the Republican Party now? The public is already pissed off at the both of them.

But Trump has no interest in the Republican Party. He’s only running to escape prosecution. This could be a golden opportunity for the party to cut off the Jabberwocky’s head. Denying immunity would ground out the circuit and leave Trump fully exposed with the last shot in his gun already fired and left with no defense.

The Republican Party could walk away clean, “It wasn’t us! It was the Supreme Court what done that! We feel real bad about it too, but you know how judges can be.” Trump washed from their hair overnight. “Gee, we wish Trump could be the candidate too but the court said, “no.” May we now show you some other fine selections you might like?

You might as well look at them, at least.

As soon as Trump is convicted of a felony, he becomes ineligible as a presidential candidate nationwide. “Take your time fellas! No need to hurry!” But Donald Trump has become the guest that wouldn’t leave. The Republican Party is divided into Cultists living in the past and Republican realists understanding that with Trump, there is no Republican future. The realists want their Party back, and Donald Trump is an impediment to that.

Trump is trying to save himself from prosecution and doesn’t give a damn about the Republican Party.

Interesting… Remember trump referring to black nations as “shit something nations and we don’t want them here”. If they were white nations, it was fine for them to migrate to the US. I guess that’s why Malaria was welcomed and to shoot out an anchor baby.
    Politics is so duplicitous…..
