Resistance to Fear

By David Glenn Cox

And so, it happens again? Alarm bells ringing with another Trump assassination attempt. Maybe being on display as the chief attraction at his Golf and phony club isn’t safe anymore. Trump has sown the wind and now must reap the whirlwind. A country with more guns than people and more illegal guns than legal ones. Stir the pot. Stir people up, and that’s what you get. Sometimes people forget that being crazy can have a very serious nature about it.

Spending hours and days planning out the finest details of shootouts with the FBI. Studying commando tactics and appearing normal all the while. But inside, behind the Ray bans a ticking clock is waiting for his Rambo moment to rescue Jody Foster from a life of sin. This is America where the movie always ends with a big shoot out, right?

Now, if I thought for some strange reason, I was Jesus and I was out to save the world, yet again. Who would I smite first to announce my second coming? After Trump survived the first shooting, they were busy checking the Biblical texts for clues they should have seen coming. But a second attempt will send them into scriptural nirvana. Crazy comes in all shapes and sizes, it’s like working the door at the Jerry Springer Show.

The conspiracy theorists will run wild parsing every word. It was the CIA or the OSI, Naval Intelligence or the Bilderberg Group! But when you scare people and piss them off, bad things are going to happen. Especially, when armed with a big black book with a genuine leatherette cover telling you it’s okay to do that. Through the prisms of their minds and the brass of their insanity, they are certain Jesus or Allah would approve of their plans.

“Here I am trying to save the world, and they put ME in jail! It’s a tough job being a messiah.” But apparently this one brought along bags of equipment ala Mission Impossible. Attempting a Presidential assassination is a sanity test in itself. A. Do you honestly believe you could get close enough to the big dumb ape? B. Have you contemplated the chances for your own survival in this scenario? C. I’m over the edge bonkers, and Jesus just won’t stop bugging me about it.

It’s really not all that surprising when you base a campaign on Haitian barbarism and Hispanic gang membership. While promising a “Bloody” crackdown with mass roundups and detentions, you’re bound to make a few enemies. That’s somebodies’ family he’s talking about blooding and detaining. Sow hate and hate comes back to you multiplied. Sow love and you’ll be lonely.

Look at Joe Biden, he does a masterful job, and no one wants to kill him. Biden is a workhorse, not a show horse and a quiet expert at making the Washington machine work smoothly. For four years now, Republicans have tried their level best to smear him with only limited success. Failing that, they went after his son. A father is always responsible for the sins of the son you know. Al Capone’s father was the guy they really needed to put in prison.

Who gains from this? Donald Trump runs to his Twuth Social imaginary media to announce his deliverance from the assassin’s hand yet again. It’s God’s will! He’s going to fight, fight, fight for you! The little people. Trump appears to think he can capitalize on this. But the event lacks drama. It’s too little too late. It’s grasping at straws. There’s no blood or raised fist in the air. It’s just something that went on while you were busy doing something else.

It could be Donald Trump’s legacy is to be the most hunted man in the world. Living every day of his life in somebodies’ crosshairs. Not safe on the back nine anymore. In the Guinness Book of World’s Records for Presidential assassination attempts. Trump is tied with Jerry Ford at two attempts right now. Does Donald realize or understand this might be the new normal? That he has stirred up every crackpot on every side of the political spectrum. Making himself the most adored and most hated man on earth. Guess what’s probably gonna happen next?

People want Donald Trump DEAD! They don’t trust in the elections and fear Trump shenanigans might try to steal a victory through the court. Whose fault is that? What could ever lead people to believe the court couldn’t be trusted? Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice and I’ll kill you.

Newton’s third law of motion says every action prompting an equal but opposite reaction. January 6th prompting Trump assassination attempts. Testicles deviant to the third law says crooked court rulings also promote Trump assassination attempts. The belief the laws and courts can’t be trusted anymore, and someone must take matters into their own hands via a Von Staufenberg.

The assassination of Donald Trump might solve one problem while undermining the system we’re trying to save. Do you really want to make Trump into a political martyr twenty feet tall with his death initialing spinoff hate cults set on political revenge? See, how the cultist beleaguer Springfield and Aurora now, at their masters implied request. Knowing they can’t win at the ballot box but still seeking their pound of flesh for retribution.

Donald Trump must be soundly defeated at the ballot box and forced to live out his days as a well-known political loser. The worse the numbers on election night the more stinging the defeat. Kicking the props out from underneath the rah, rah crowd. Scattering the bigots and xenophobes with no leader left to rally around. Forcing them back into the shadows of American life.

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear.”

You’re so right about this: “Biden is a workhorse, not a show horse and a quiet expert at making the Washington machine work smoothly.”

Would that more people would recognize this, *and *how our political system works (or attempts to, when not fouled by obstructionist Rethuglicons). Education is always key. Too bad it’s depriving so many young minds of a brighter future.

It’s so true, too, that a trouncing at the polls is what’s needed, and seems to be what will happen. Fingers crossed, of course. Keep up the good work here.
