The Enablers

By David Glenn Cox

The admitted popularity of the orange disease continues to decline. Deduct an additional 10% for corporate cover. From 31% handling of the economy down to 21%. Trump is unwilling to take any drastic steps because that would force him to admit that he’s been wrong from the beginning. To admit, it wasn’t all Joe Biden’s fault. The made-for TV farm bailout is being peddled as a fair exchange. Sure, we might have ruined your business. But the tariffs are working so well, we have billions left over to freely give away.

Will the congress pass the made-for TV farm bailout? Congress? Who are they? Lots of big talk up on crap, it all hill about standing up to the orange shit stain. Just big talk, hot air and nothing more. Oh, they will resign and run away, but they won’t stand up to him for any price. On a simple voice vote, Republicans could have defied the king of corruption and voted to maintain the status quo with three more years of the Affordable Care Act subsidies. All the polling and all the news reports say Republicans are heading into a midterm election bloodbath. And yet, even in the face of near certain political death. The Republicans could not stand up to the king for the people of the United Snakes.

From a political standpoint, it was the wrong thing to do. To abandon twenty million Americans to poverty and near certain death. Economically, in a struggling economy, to nearly double health care premiums is disastrous. Morally, it is a giant flashing neon sign which says to Americans, “Fuck You!”

Have you noticed recently? The king of corruption does his business now while sitting in the anal office? He sits behind the big desk. Because…standing is too difficult. Kara Lying Leavitt says the discolored patch on the king’s hand is from shaking hands so often. Oh, please! If you’re going to lie, fine. But she’s paid well, and we deserve a better caliber of lies. Scuttlebutt, and it’s only scuttlebutt, says the king is being treated for dementia. With a drug administered intravenously in the hand and requiring frequent MRIs. Better double that dosage.

The Indiana legislature voted down Trump’s demand they recalibrate the states voting districts. Trump, being Trump, answers, It’s Indiana. They love me in Indiana. I didn’t really care, anyway. But I hope they primary those SOBs responsible. It’s the old proverb “The Emperor’s power ends at the palace gate.” Those closest to the heat are less likely to step into the fire.

But the misadministration is beginning to wobble and swerve like a drunk driver. The National Security Policy is the most noxious document ever to emerge from any white house. It reads basically that the US will do whatever it wants. Central and South America are our personal property and they will do whatever they are told or else. The king, through gunboat diplomacy, is committing murder and piracy on the high seas towards Venezuela. But he whispers under his breath, your next Mexico and you better watch it, Colombia. If you know what’s good for you!

The policy is stridently anti-democracy and anti-Europe. Calling for regime change to reshape Europe in the hideous image of Donald Trump. And the Republicans in congress say exactly what you would expect them to say. They say nothing! If Newton was correct, and every action has an equal but opposite reaction, what can we expect? Besides disengagement and disinvestment. The end of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. The end of American diplomacy. As if Marko Polio wasn’t proof enough of that already. FOR SALE: Like new battery factory in Georgia.

The cracks are already beginning to show. The war between Thailand and Cambodia are failures of American foreign policy. This time around, the Thai government has officially said it. Yankee go home! The political spat between China and Japan is growing and becoming more bellicose as the king dozes off at the Resolute desk. US/South Korea relations have never been lower. US/China relations are the lowest since Nixon spoke with Mao. Vladimir Putin declares he is at war with all of Europe, not just Ukraine. Europe is preparing for war. And the congress says, “Duh, what?”

Take three guesses. Who is responsible for this sorry state of affairs? I’ll give you a hint, not Joe Biden. Jerome Powell, the head of the Federal Reserve, warns he believes the administration is over estimating the employment numbers. Translation; they’re cooking the books. It’s not that Wall Street is up today or down tomorrow; it is the volatility. Someone gets a new puppy and the market soars. Or someone loses their wallet and the market declines. Every time Bitcoin rises above $90,000, the selling starts. That is people looking for the floor to get out and heading for the exits. Losing faith in the market.

The Artificial intelligence bubble is bursting without ever blooming. Gee, it really was artificial after all. The markets are over-leveraged. Overburdened with bad debts. Consumers are running out of money and credit, just like in 1929. Farmers are on the skids. Retail sales are in the toilet. Auto sales with record defaults. Home prices are starting to tumble. And your government, like Herbert Hoover, says, “Duh, what?” Consider this; the only Republicans in congress willing to stand up to Trump are Marge Taylor Greene and Rand Paul. That is truly a sad commentary. The rest are like moo cows quietly chewing their cuds in the field. Oblivious to all that is going on all around them.

They have abdicated their responsibilities and abandoned the American people to the terrors of Trump. Of course, we will remember the Hegseth’s and the Pam Bondi’s, but we mustn’t forget the enablers who made it all possible. Pete didn’t kill those fishermen and the admiral didn’t kill those fishermen. It was lieutenant so and so, who pushed the button. It was the congressmen and senators who pushed the button. It isn’t just ICE rounding up and black bagging people and building concentration camps. It is your congress person or your senator, who is allowing it to be done in your name.

Cowering in the shadows and mumbling “We’re not responsible” when they are just as responsible for the situation as Donald John Trump. The crash is coming and is unavoidable now. All that it needs is a spark. One bad number or one bad event to bring the house of cards down all around us. This is probably our last Christmas at peace and prosperous. As the world wobbles towards a world war and a depression. Brought to you by Trump, but more to the point, brought to you by his enablers.

“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”  ― George Orwell.

My wife got a smart watch when she took up jogging. A cheap Chinese jobby off the internet.
I would notice it sometimes winking in the dark when we were in bed, and she would joke that it was looking for her. After she died, I charged it, to see if it worked and was worth giving away. After that it looked for her for weeks.
I hope your difficulties are overcome, and you carry on getting yourself out.

It reminds me of the Chinese moon probe. It worked for thirty minutes and then broke down.

    Sorry again….
But now having read your post, I can quote R.E.M.
“It’s the end of the world as we know it”
    But as I tend to miss remember it;
“It’s the end of the world and we know it”
