The 1985 film “Brazil,” directed by Terry Gilliam, was a “dystopian, science fiction black comedy. Yes, all three and a masterpiece of the bizarre. But my day-to-day life far exceeds the extremes of any film. We now have to check the news the way we once checked the weather. The President on his way to a UFC fight, gave a few remarks. What’s wrong with that sentence? The President was on his way to a UFC fight. Remember, Obama caught hell for not wearing a tie in the Oval Office.
Can you picture any other President of the United States attending a UFC fight? Dwight and Mamie or John and Jackie? Jackie, such a fashion plate, wears what every woman will be wearing to UFC fights…next year. Ron and Nancy? It’s called dignity of the office. There’s nothing wrong with UFC fighting, if that’s what you like, but the dignity of the office? The World Championship of Poker or attending the regional quarterfinals of International Cockfighting.
There’s throwing out the first pitch at the World Series or attending the Super Bowl, and then, there’s everything else. There’s Americana like the Indy 500, and then there is bare-knuckle brawling. Singing “Back Home in Indiana” versus a cage match. Two walk in, one walks out! Take him out in the yard and kick his ass, Junior! Okay, it’s crazy. It’s madness! It just can’t get any worse. Then it does.
Mr. Trump became enamored with one fighter and admired, ogled, and complimented him on his physique in naive homoerotic splendor. Yes, we all see the pretty man. Yes, he does have big muscles. It is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Who is this guy, Donald Trump, really?
I watched Mr. Trump give a three-minute introduction flawlessly. No gaffes or miscues, and done very professionally. Then, in five more minutes, Trump babbles like a six-year-old at the zoo. “Oooh, look! That man has big muscles!
According to Mr. Trump, Pope Leo isn’t cutting the mustard, and Mr. Trump is displeased. (Leo’s soft on crime.) What this world needs is a Maga Pope. “My brothers ands sisters, hear my Easter message this Sunday. Get a Job! You lazy bums. Jesus had to get up on Sunday! Why can’t you!” Someone to wear the holy vestments and agree with Trump all the time. They could hang and go to the fights together!
Does the Pope of Rome have to pass presidential muster? What sort of sick, twisted mind evaluates the Pope? Does the Pope of Rome meet my high personal standards? Has he been married three times? Has he cheated on all his wives? Is he tits deep in the Epstein scandal? Donald Trump isn’t sure the Pope meets his personal standards. Donald Trump erupts into a war of words with the Pope. Clearly, this is unwell thinking. How can you not look like a jerk bad-mouthing the Pope calling for peace. When that’s his job!
It makes it troubling in the extreme. One minute Trump is lucid and the next he’s bananas. Who fights with the Pope? Who fights with Canada, Denmark, Greenland? The European Union, Cuba, Venezuela, China, Ukraine, and even tiny Vatican City. Mr. Trump is at war with everyone. All must bow down to the glory of Trump!
Mr. Trump posted a meme of himself as Jesus healing the sick. With his hand shining with the power of God. Mr. Trump sublimely explains his problems with the Pope. Trump proclaims himself as God! The Pope is Trump’s unworthy underling, not following the teachings of the new messiah. It reaches a point of sickness beyond comedy. Remember, Obama wore a brown suit and Joe Biden was old! Trump proclaims himself Jesus Christ and Orwell media, hardly mentions it. That’s some pretty serious stuff claiming to be the Messiah.
Who is this guy? Does he? Could he actually believe he’s the messiah? That’s a real illness. Catching a backlash from hypersensitive Christian groups Mr. Trump takes down the meme. He explains that HE thought it was a picture of himself as a doctor and not the messiah. Did the doctor have a bag? No! Did the doctor have a stethoscope? No. Was there anything in the picture to imply he was a doctor? No! Was there anything to imply Trump was Jesus? Yes! That’s a problem.
Where is this idea being generated? Which came first? Trump thinks he’s Jesus or the meme where Trump thinks he’s Jesus. Are they puffing him up to manipulate Trump? That’s a wonderful idea, Mr. President. You always come up with the best ideas!
It’s like Trump has multiple personalities. One minute he’s sane and cogent, the next he’s talking like a child meeting a big-league ballplayer. A month ago, Mr. Trump proposed guarding ships through the Straits of Hormuz. The idea was met with skepticism and abandoned. Now, we’re blockading the strait. What’s changed? The name has changed. We aren’t guarding, we’re blockading! Operation: You better not, or you’ll get it again! So we now have to check the headlines every few hours. All clear; no new wars yet.
Does Mr. Trump believe he’s the Messiah? Are they telling him he’s the messiah? Trump is a mess of a messiah. And certainly calls into question God’s messiah criteria. If this is our savior what is he saving us from? A malignant, rapid-fire narcissist as our messiah.
The child, the performer, the ladies’ man, the warrior/businessman, and the empty suit. The empty suit is still trying to please a dead daddy who never thought Junior was good enough. A psyche like a can of spaghetti short a couple of meatballs with multiple operators. Sybil and friends.
“Fear and anxiety affect decision making in the direction of more caution and risk aversion… Traumatized individuals pay more attention to cues of threat than other experiences, and they interpret ambiguous stimuli and situations as threatening (Eyesenck, 1992), leading to more fear-driven decisions. In people with a dissociative disorder, certain parts are compelled to focus on the perception of danger. Living in trauma-time, these dissociative parts immediately perceive the present as being “just like” the past and “emergency” emotions such as fear, rage, or terror are immediately evoked, which compel impulsive decisions to engage in defensive behaviors (freeze, flight, fight, or collapse). When parts of you are triggered, more rational and grounded parts may be overwhelmed and unable to make effective decisions.” ― Suzette Boon, Coping with Trauma-Related Dissociation: Skills Training for Patients and Therapists
