The Apogee

The Apogee

It’s like a Greek tragedy or a Shakespearian morality play. And now, he lies broken, in a pitiful round orange heap. A little bird told me somebody’s getting fired. You can feel the pressure building. Somebody’s got to go, if just  to ease the little man’s pressure. To take the head off to take a head off. Both are deserving; it’s a toss-up! The ex-Fox News host turned prosecutor or the ex-Fox News host turned Duh fence secretary. Suckretary of War! Winner of a Peabody and Sherman award.

It’s all gone wrong, and they know it. They’ve fallen and they can’t get up. Funny story, I was watching a headline on See BS. Average gas price nationwide was $4.01! Having just returned from the gas station myself, I found that amusing. The going price here is $4.83 for regular. A 20% discrepancy. We’ve never been that far out of line before? Now, flashback to those Joe Biden stickers the Republicans put on gas pumps. (Look what I did!) Now, under Mr. Trump, it’s not so bad! See, barely four dollars a gallon!  Small propaganda. “It’s not so bad, quit complaining.”

Mr. Trump could pull a name out of a hat whom to fire as they are all deserving of the door prize. Low T Pete Hegseth or Gin- nine Pirro. Duh, Doug Burnham, Krash Patel, or even our new Zombie Attorney General, Tottering Blanche. His position is so precarious, it should be considered a temp job. Todd Blanche will be our Attorney General until he’s charged with wrongdoing himself. Todd and Trump won a battle while losing a war. Literally, while losing a war. Todd should have run away from the job when he had a chance. There’s no honor in being the highest-ranking former cabinet official in your cell block.

Did you know? That besides Mitch McConnell, someone else is missing in Washington. The President’s wife, Malaria Trump, is gone like poodle skirts and penny loafers. Coincidence? When the going gets tough, the tough bug out! Nobody loves you when you’re down and out. Especially this guy! A search was begun for Mrs. Trump. They checked Gucci, Burberry and even Nieman-Marcus but she was nowhere to be found. So the spotlight falls on our poor, poor, clown wigged Pagliacci, all alone.

All alone, abandoned, avoided, and discussed in low tones out of earshot. When you have to fight that hard just to get an acting Attorney General confirmed, they have a real problem. Legislation? Forget it! Mr. Trump is already a lame duck. He has more problems on the table than one poor boy outta have. Surrounded by “yes” people and professionals who argue with him all the time. But you can see the administration breaking down with Mr. Trump’s crazy, insistent, vandalism declarations.

His own media staff would tell him to cool it with the vandalism thing. It’s a real loser politically, and he’s not helping himself by going on and on about it. It’s, what’s the word I’m looking for here? Crazy! Yes, crazy! Few, if any, believe Mr. Trump exotic cock and bull story, and most of the Trumpers don’t even care. Yet, he goes on and on about it in senile rapture. Do you know what that means? It means there is no adequate control over him. He does what he wants! He’s prone to do or say anything! He’s gone full-tilt bozo at this point.

I listened to some talk radio last night, and oh boy, is somebody in big trouble. For a change of pace, they weren’t railing against Dr. Fauci or the Democrats. Nope, they were all angry with Donald J. Trump, millionaire and President of the Untied Snakes. “Why doesn’t he just end this war? What’s he waiting for? Bomb the pre-schools and maternity hospitals and the old folks homes. Bomb the bridges, power plants and waterworks! Leave no war crime unturned! Nobody but nobody mentioned the missile shortage, I wonder why? Because Reich wing media doesn’t talk about it. “Were Winning! News at eleven!”

It’s only human nature; the higher you go, the more the people will grow to hate you eventually. And Mr. Trump is burning out his candle. His intransigence and inflexibility are starting to wear thin and may be the only thing thin on Mr.Trump, except for maybe his hair or the truth. The polling is bad and getting more and more difficult to hide away. They have to reframe the metrics to hide the truth. “He’s underwater by 15 points.” Just what the fuck does that mean? Can’t you just give us the straight number? Rather than just giving us another number describing the percentage of change in the first number?” The Yankees played the Cubs, and the Yanks were winning but suddenly found themselves underwater by 15 points. It’s a lie, to cover up the lie. A number designed to deflect the truth from the actual number.

Mr. Trump’s polling is the worst on record and still falling. A recent poll found 2/3’s of Americans think Mr. Trump isn’t focused on their concerns. An honest assessment is three quarters of the public, and rising. Mr. Trump has reached his apogee and is now falling back to earth like Icarus . He doesn’t trust the generals anymore and he’s disgusted with his cabinet. (Somebody’s going to get fired!)

It’s no fun being President defect anymore. The happy times for him are over. He’s tired, and he wants to go home. There’s only one thing to do! Drift off into a fantasy world where things aren’t so hard and where he’s still winning. Best polling ever! The economy is doing great! Better than ever! On a scale of one to one hundred. I’d rate my handling of the economy at one hundred and fifty!”

There are things presidents say sometimes that aren’t true. Most of the time, the reasons are political. In this case, the President says things which aren’t true because he so wants them to be true. Those Iranians were begging him to make a peace deal, weren’t they?

“Nothing to say, and nothing to hear
And nothing to see
Each sensation makes a note
In my symphony

Sickness can surely take the mind
Where minds can’t usually go
Come on the amazing journey
And learn all you should know.”

I wonder what Americans would make of the petrol prices in the UK? Already taxed heavily for decades, they jumped by a lot when Russia invaded Ukraine, and never really stabilised. Then Trump attacked Iran and they jumped up again. I just bought regular unleaded for my car at the local supermarket petrol forecourt. £40 for 5 gallons, £8 a gallon. That’s $10.82 a gallon at today’s exchange rate, and the supermarkets are cheaper than the mainstream petrol stations and service stations on A-roads.

It’s not just the U.S. that is “paying for” Trump … What a pox he is!

That’s why the rest of the world hates him, Nan. And why it is starting to lose patience with America for tolerating him. Best wishes, Pete.
