The Man Who Broke the World

By David Glenn Cox

We stand on the threshold of a new world, built upon the glories of our past and the wreckage of our future. Former Republican nonsense-spreader Marjorie Tater Greene says Mr. Trump wants to use nuclear weapons in Iran. Fortunately, I don’t let what Maggie says keep me up nights. But it is something to consider when our president is a narcissistic, amoral ten-year-old with jock itch, hemorrhoids and a bad temper. We are forced by reality to consider the unthinkable.

CIA head John Ratcliffe flies to Moscow for secret talks. Were this any other administration, that wouldn’t concern me much. But with this bunch of thugs, hooligans and gangsters, I half-way expect another Soviet- Nazi non-aggression pact. Rumors say Vladimir Putin would also like to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Just such talk is beyond the pale and a dangerous symptom of our distress.

The war against Iran was entirely unprovoked. The war against Venezuela was entirely unprovoked. A war of aggrandizement and conquest, and begun with a surprise attack, ala Pearl Harbor. Is that the new American way? The trade-war against Canada was also entirely unprovoked. A trade-war against one of our largest trading partners and former closest allies. Does that make any sense at all to you? Bringing chaos from stability and punishing our children to appease an old coot’s bad temper. Caligula lives!

A burgeoning, bellicose, bubble-headed Fascist state wrapped in red, white and blue, blue, blue. How will this ever end well? Chances are that it won’t. After just two years, it should be glaringly obvious to all how Mr. Trump bankrupted a casino. Child’s play! “Look, Ma! No hands!” How did Nazi Germany ever come into being? Look in the mirror. This mongoloid marauder and his class of Republican reactionary retread retards kicked 700,000 Americans off of Medicaid to give a $234 billion dollar tax break not to the 1%, but to the top 2/10s of the one percent.

Hitler once met with wary German industrialists and explained how once he was in power, they’d all get big fat defense contracts and all become richer than kings! Hitler bribed them. Never mind the fate of Germany or of Europe, when they could become rich! Does this begin to sound at all familiar? The rah- rah squad of the incontinent congress cheers as Mr. Trump pardons the very thugs who wanted to KILL THEM! Yeah! Mr. Trump!

One of these days, Alice. Pow! Right in the kisser! You’re going to the moon, Alice! One fine day these bottom feeders and scum suckers on Wall Street are going to wake up and discover their ride is gone. That lush American consumer economy of new cars, big houses, and fast-food joints, all gone. While they were busy betting on semiconductors and data centers they forgot three square meals and a cot. The old saying is ignored: “Dance with the girl who brung you.” That’s not sexy, and that’s not fun. Screw meat and potatoes; they want squab and caviar. Screw the domestic economy! Who cares about them?

Mr. Trump’s unprovoked trade war with Canada is destined for disaster. The products which Canada offers are in relatively short supply. Aluminum takes a great deal of electricity to make efficiently. If the Untied Snakes adds tariffs, Canada will simply sell the aluminum to Europe or Asia. It won’t sit in the warehouse gathering dust for long. American Agri-business is screaming from Michigan to Miami, warning of impending disaster. Humpty Dumpty is juggling their future with his eyes closed. Meanwhile, the over-priced American automotive industry will become even more overpriced.

The balloon can’t keep going up and up as jobs and the economy keep going down and down. Watch as history repeats itself! During the Republican Great Depression of 1929, banks speculated with depositors’ money. Because the deposits were uninsured, millions went broke overnight. They had believed the markets could just keep going up and up, like magic. Even as Mr. Ford closed his car factory and Mr. RCA almost went broke.

Today we have cryptocurrency, the greatest scam ever created since the invention of the wooden nickel. Faceless, unnamed leadership, completely unhindered by regulation or insurance. But a great way to hide money and launder cash. Plus, a great dodge on those pesky taxes. They only look at the plus side of the ledger and never consider the negative. What happens if they’re steaming along one night and hit an iceberg? Or a spark touches the Hindenburg balloon. Their money will be gone faster than you can say “Trump’s an idiot.” And the kicker is they won’t even know who stole all their money.

Mixed Martial Arts contests, auto races and military parades, helipads and deflecting pools! Ballrooms and pointless monuments to his madness. Nero rules! Anybody got a match? “Wars and rumors of wars. I should have swiped that Gideon’s bible from the Motel 6 when the prostitute wasn’t looking, when I had the chance. It’s a good thing I don’t believe, or I might not sleep too well at night. Da big book says the Antichrist will fool the faithful and they will never see him coming. Gosh, that’s truly amazing. The faithful will cheer for him and adore him! And he will be grievously wounded in the head and somehow miraculously survive. Scary stuff for believers, I suppose.

But the actual numbers speak louder than the Bible. Zero job growth, zero wage growth, rising inflation and the slowest sales at Walmart in six years. Walmart is the barometer for the American poor, and if Walmart ain’t making it. The poor ain’t making it either. It signals subliminally that the floor is crumbling beneath our feet. All of those would be millionaires and billionaires will be shocked soon asking, “Where did all my money go?’

“And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, (New York) with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; (orange) its feet were like a bear’s, (Cankles) and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. (large) And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?” And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, (self-explanatory) and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. …”  Surprise!

I spent most of my 74 years not thinking too much about Canada. Yeah, they didn’t like the British Royal Family in the French-speaking areas like Quebec. But I was in London, and I didn’t lik the Royal Family either. My mum had a cousin who married a Canadian soldier during WW2, and went to live in a place I don’t remember the name of, except it was ‘near’ Calgary. Now I am a huge fan of Canada. If I was in charge of Canada I would sever all ties with America, close the border, stop the electricity and everything else, and give Trump the finger. Please do that, Canada. Do it for me! Best wishes, Pete.

Do you know? If we made Canada the 51st state we could elect Mark Carney President.
