The End of Daze

By David Glenn Cox

I saw something last night I thought I would never see. An event so profound and astonishing that it was almost beyond conception in my mind. In Mobile, Alabama, Mr. Trump drew 5,000 people in a room that held 10,000. Then in Syracuse, NY, Mr. Trump drew 2,500 in a room that held five thousand . Then came the train wreck in Clarksville, Tennessee. Mr. Trump drew a crowd on a Saturday night of less than one thousand people. An astonishing and almost unbelievably low number.

If I had been Mr. Trump’s keeper that night. I would have immediately canceled the event and said Mr. Trump had an emergency and had to immediately go save the world from Lex Luther or something. But they went ahead with the show anyway in a nearly empty room. Good seats were available everywhere. In Mobile, there were good seats available upstairs. In Clarksville, there were good seats were available in the fourth row. Even the peanut gallery behind Mr. Trump was looking a mite thinned out. It was almost unbelievable and the news story of the decade, at least. Stop the presses! Mr. Trump can’t draw flies on a Saturday night!

But a contrite and emasculated news media was trained to not notice and not report on the disastrous train wreck in Clarksville. If Clarksville were just another red city in just another safe red state, that would be one thing. But Clarksville is the home of the 101 Airborne, 30,000 strong, not including wives and dependents. Mr. Trump should have been able to fill that room five times over. A sitting Republican President goes to a military town on a Saturday night and hears crickets. Astounding!

It shows us something completely unheard of: a Republican President who has lost the military, as well as the general public. I suspect Peckerhead Pete Hogsbreath had something to do with it. I’ve coined a new word for Petey…Assaholic. That’s an asshole who is also an alcoholic. Petey is trying to rebuild the military into his own Sergeant Rock image, and the people of Clarksville are taking it out on Whiskey Pete’s boss. Hogsbreath famously held up promotions and removed people arbitrarily from the promotion list. He’s removed generals and admirals or forced them into retirement.

The various branches of the military like to spar with each other. The Army calls the Marines jarheads. The Navy calls the Air Force the chair force. And the Marines like to say that they  are the men’s department of the Navy. But as they all watched the carrier Abe Lincoln returning from its 322-day deployment. Every man and woman in the military service knew that it could happen to them just as easily. They voted with their feet and stayed home. They’re through with Donald Trump and testosterone Pete Hogsbreath.

To a free and open media, it was a story with tremendous weight and worthy of national attention. But the reporters were scared off or warned off. Don’t make him angry! Their bosses were scared off or bought off. The big boss is a billionaire and he likes Mr. Trump. Don’t make him angry, or he could blacklist you. You could wind up doing the five AM farm reports in North Dakota. So a huge story with political relevance and weight to a national audience, is ignored until it falls down on ME to report it. I never thought it would get this far. I never dreamed that this little blog would be reporting astounding national news stories, totally ignored by the millionaire, mongoloid media.

Man kills his entire family in Pennsylvania; that’s news! The President of the Untied Snakes plays to a nearly empty house and lays an egg; not news. On a Saturday night he couldn’t draw a crowd in red, red Tennessee. Maybe there was some other event going on? Maybe a rodeo, or country music concert, or wrestlemania or something. Nope! Nothing!

The local news station did a story about the Trump monkeys queuing up at five-thirty in the morning. But largely, that was everyone. The true acolytes could have stayed home until lunch. The true believers who still believe things are as they once were, who thought they needed to get in line early, if they wanted to get in at all. I had predicted the collapse of Mr. Trump’s rallies, but I didn’t predict that it would occur within twenty-four hours. However bad  we might have suspected things were going for the Republicans and the administration in the midterms. Clarksville tells us that it’s going to be even worse than that.

It’s the end of daze, and the spell has finally broken. The wave has crashed and is rolling back into the sea. The tide is going out. Mr. Trump announced a deal with Russia. You know, Russia, Russia, Russia! We get most of our money from Russia, Russia, Russia! Mr. Putin has reportedly offered Mr. Trump a king’s ransom to pressure Ukraine into surrender. And apparently the terms of the deal have finally been agreed upon. Mr. Trump will import diesel fuel from Russia despite his own sanctions. Diesel fuel that may or may not actually exist. Diesel fuel that won’t arrive until Christmas, if at all.

The deal tips Mr. Trump’s hand. The war in Iran won’t be ending anytime soon. He’s going to fight it out until the end, no matter what it means for the Untied Snakes economy. The credit bubble is about to burst brought about by Mr. Trump’s reckless spending and a gutless Republican Congress who must squat to pee.

Trump sees the end of the road coming and makes his deal of all deals. Selling out our friends and our allies, and ourselves, for just one minute of positive press. It could be that the Trump Presidential Library will be located in Saint Petersburg, right next door to the Vladimir Putin memorial library. Donald Trump turns on President Zelensky by trying to blame Ukraine for a diesel shortage in America, caused by Mr. Trump’s insane war in Iran. Trump calls for Zelensky’s removal like a good lackey, stooge, and sellout would be expected to do. President Zelensky calls Mr. Trump’s defection, “a gift to Moscow.”

Navi Pillay wins the Nobel Peace Prize for her work defending international law and human rights on the ICC, the International Criminal Court. Mr. Trump calls her victory a stain on Norway and on the Nobel Committee. And amazingly, within hours, the Trump regime in full tantrum mode imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court. They have a warrant out for Vladimir Putin’s arrest, don’t you know? Who has your back, Vladimir? Who’s been on your side, all along? Who sees the end of daze coming up ahead and maybe sees his own warrant from the court with Mr. Trump’s own name on it.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much, but the landslide of defeat is beginning to take shape. The rain-soaked mud is piling up close to the precipice, and it won’t take more than a few more drops to send it cascading down the mountain and sweeping all before it. Now I want Trump to stay alive to see the end, even though he will deny it had anything to do with him until his last breath. Shared on Twitter.

    Best wishes, Pete.

Although the crowds … aren’t … there are still (far too) many who will go to polls and vote “Republican.” Just because.

I truly hope Pete is correct about the landside, but …
